Johan Bakayoko speaks out about his future at PSV amidst speculation linking him to Arsenal.

Arsenal is looking to bolster their squad in the upcoming transfer window, with a central midfielder being their main focus.

However, there is a possibility that they may also target a goalkeeper, defender, and versatile forward as Arteta aims for a third consecutive Premier League title challenge.

Reports suggest that Arsenal has set their sights on Johan Bakayoko this summer, and the player himself has now addressed the rumors surrounding his potential move.

Johan Bakayoko has provided insight into his future at PSV amidst rumors of a transfer to Arsenal and Liverpool.

The 21-year-old winger had an impressive season with the Dutch club, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in 48 matches across all competitions.

This has sparked interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool, who view Bakayoko as a potential successor to Bukayo Saka and Mohamed Salah respectively.

PSV Eindhoven insider Rik Elfrink, as reported by GiveMeSport, mentioned that Arsenal have inquired about the possibility of signing Bakayoko to the Emirates Stadium.

However, it is understood that the young winger is currently focused on Euro 2024 and is expected to make a decision post the tournament.

Ahead of Belgium’s upcoming round of 16 match against France, Bakayoko addressed questions about his future and potential transfer destinations.

“I’m uncertain about my future at PSV,” he mentioned, keeping his cards close to his chest.

Regarding the match against France, Bakayoko commented, “I honestly believe there’s no clear favorite. Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses, and there’s mutual respect.”

He also mentioned, “We haven’t specifically practiced penalties. However, Lois Openda did take one during training. Whether it was successful or not, you’ll have to ask him.”

This isn’t the first time Bakayoko has discussed his future at PSV. In a previous interview with Dutch news outlet Het Belang van Limburg, he hinted at a potential move to Arsenal, stating, “All I can say is that I’ll be playing football somewhere next year.”

Bakayoko has previous experience playing at the Emirates Stadium, having been part of the PSV team that suffered a 4-0 defeat in the Champions League group stages last season.

He played for 66 minutes against Mikel Arteta’s team and also featured in the match against the Gunners at Philips Stadium three months later, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Bakayoko was on the verge of a move to the Premier League last summer, with Brentford reportedly ready to pay up to £34 million for the Belgian winger.

A deal was reportedly close, but he ultimately decided to remain at PSV due to the club’s Champions League prospects.
