In a recent update on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano discussed Liverpool’s potential interest in signing a new centre-back.

“For Liverpool, it’s important to monitor centre-backs, as I am hearing that they might consider pursuing a centre-back in the final weeks of this summer transfer window. Liverpool could potentially add another player in that position. This is not something we should rule out. At this moment, it seems more pressing than acquiring a right-back. Therefore, I will also keep an eye on the centre-back situation.”

Gomez’s injury may lead Liverpool to explore the market later this month, given their lack of depth in defense.

Currently, Liverpool’s options are notably young and inexperienced, with Leoni and Jacquet yet to make their debuts for the club since their arrivals.
