Fabrizio Romano has confirmed positive news for Liverpool.

He has announced that a deal has been agreed for a fan-favorite player.

Additionally, Romano has revealed that Liverpool is in discussions for a remarkable midfielder.

Currently, Liverpool is indeed in talks for an exciting midfielder.

Let’s face it, this summer isn’t starting as thrilling as last year’s transfer window. At this point last year, Liverpool had already secured Jeremie Frimpong and were nearing deals for Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike.

This time, the only signing so far is Victor Munoz, and many players have departed the club.

Much of this can be attributed to the World Cup. The transfer market tends to slow down during major international tournaments. For many players, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as World Cups occur only every four years, making it understandable that they want to focus on the competition.

Selling clubs are also likely to be more reluctant to part with their players until the tournament concludes, hoping to see their values rise.

Thus, it feels like a quiet period before a significant upheaval, and for Liverpool, a major storm is anticipated once the transfer window truly opens.

There is simply too much to address.

Richard Hughes’ agenda includes finding a replacement for Mo Salah, acquiring a center-back, a right-back, and possibly additional midfielders. He may also need to find a replacement for Cody Gakpo.

The midfield situation is particularly intriguing.

On the surface, Liverpool may not appear to urgently require midfield additions. However, this perspective changes when considering that Curtis Jones seems to be seeking a move. Alexis Mac Allister is also open to exploring new opportunities. The future of Wataru Endo remains uncertain.

Moreover, it is clear that Liverpool is in need of a holding midfielder, as they have yet to find a replacement for Fabinho since his departure from the club.

The market currently lacks genuine true no.6s. Many teams have moved away from utilizing a sitting midfielder. The game has evolved into a more dynamic and fluid style, which requires players like Fabinho to take on additional responsibilities.

So, who are the potential targets for Liverpool?

Numerous names have been mentioned. The English market appears to be inflated, with exorbitant fees being asked for players like Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton.

This situation may compel Hughes to look for alternatives.

One such alternative could be found in Ligue 1. Liverpool has been associated with several midfielders from France’s premier division. Lamine Camara and Mamadou Sangare are both on the club’s radar.

However, they are not the only options.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool is also engaged in discussions regarding another promising African midfielder.

During an appearance on Born and Red’s YouTube channel, Romano revealed that Liverpool is in negotiations to acquire Ayyoub Bouaddi and has conducted two meetings to entice the Moroccan international to Anfield.

“Liverpool had 2 meetings and more clubs involved in that [PSG and Arsenal], so could be an opportunity to go for him,” Romano stated.

“It depends on the price, it depends on Lille’s intentions, but Liverpool has been monitoring the player closely for nearly a year. We will see if they pursue this option. I believe it could be intriguing, not just for Liverpool but for other clubs as well.”

Bouaddi is still a teenager, yet he possesses considerable experience, making him an ideal candidate. He is someone who would thrive under Andoni Iraola.

Nonetheless, the involvement of Arsenal and PSG complicates matters significantly.
