Liverpool is reportedly in discussions to acquire a discontented player from Real Madrid, who may seek a transfer this summer.

According to exclusive information from TBR Football, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have all reached out regarding the potential signing of Rodrygo.

The Brazilian winger has attracted significant interest from Premier League clubs since before his transfer from Santos to Real Madrid in 2019.

Jurgen Klopp had previously expressed a desire to bring Rodrygo to Liverpool during his early tenure.

At 24, Rodrygo has been an essential player for Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti, but his playing time has diminished following Kylian Mbappe’s arrival last summer.

Consequently, Rodrygo is now facing uncertainty regarding his starting position for the first time in his career with Los Blancos.

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, reports that Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City have recently engaged with Rodrygo’s representatives to discuss his current situation.

These clubs have maintained interest in Rodrygo over the years, as he is a player that any top-tier team would desire.

However, for the first time, Rodrygo’s camp is open to considering offers from the Premier League.

Sources indicate that while Rodrygo is dissatisfied with his current circumstances, he intends to evaluate his options under the new management at the club.

With Ancelotti departing and Xabi Alonso likely to take over, who may also become Rodrygo’s national team coach, the player is awaiting clarity on his role.

It has been communicated to Rodrygo that his position will be reviewed in the summer, and these discussions could potentially lead to his departure, given the competitive attacking lineup at Santiago Bernabeu.

Last summer, Liverpool engaged in discussions to acquire Rodrygo, with reports from Spain suggesting they made an £84m offer.

Although this figure may not be entirely accurate, it is evident that Rodrygo would be a valuable addition to Arne Slot’s team. Ultimately, the Brazilian chose to remain at Real Madrid to compete for a starting position.

While Rodrygo primarily plays as a right-winger, a role currently filled by Mohamed Salah at Anfield, who recently extended his contract, he is also capable of performing well on the left or in a central role, which enhances his attractiveness to Richard Hughes and other Premier League executives.
