Berta is diligently working on acquiring seven players for Arsenal, with an anticipated summer spending of £300 million.

Arsenal is poised for a transformative summer transfer window, with Andrea Berta already strategizing for up to seven new signings in a potential £300 million expenditure.

Following his recent appointment as the sporting director at the Emirates Stadium, Berta is focused on reshaping the team’s core, as reported by GIVEMESPORT during the latest episode of our Market Madness podcast.

Manager Mikel Arteta’s failure to secure a primary striker before the winter transfer deadline has had significant repercussions, particularly after Kai Havertz sustained a season-ending hamstring injury shortly thereafter.

However, there is a strong intent to revamp the squad in the upcoming months.

Berta’s Ambitious Plans for Arsenal’s Roster.

The newly appointed sporting director is ready to invest heavily in new talent.

According to GMS sources, Berta has officially signed on as Arsenal’s sporting director and is eager to implement substantial changes to the squad, with the club confident in their ability to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

Last summer, Riccardo Calafiori was Arsenal’s most notable signing, arriving from Bologna for £42 million.

However, the club remained inactive during the mid-season transfer window and has since fallen behind in the Premier League title race, with Liverpool establishing a significant lead.

Sources indicate that Berta aims to strengthen the foundation of Arsenal’s team, targeting a new second-choice goalkeeper, left-back, defensive midfielder, left-winger, and striker.

Additionally, there may be plans to provide backup for Bukayo Saka and potentially recruit a dynamic central midfielder.

North London club Arsenal is actively pursuing a deal for Martin Zubimendi, leveraging a £51 million release clause in his contract with Real Sociedad.

Additionally, they have identified other potential targets currently playing in La Liga.

Sources indicate that Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams and Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia are among the players Arsenal is considering for acquisition.

This summer could see a record expenditure of around £300 million aimed at enhancing Mikel Arteta’s squad in their quest for more silverware.

Declan Rice holds the record for the highest transfer fee in Arsenal’s history, having joined from West Ham United for £105 million in July 2023.

However, there is optimism that the club can invest further this summer, as they believe they are in compliance with financial regulations.

According to sources, Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes has been recommended by Berta as a potential midfield addition alongside Zubimendi.

Arsenal is also interested in his teammate Alexander Isak, while they have conducted preliminary discussions regarding RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who reportedly has an interest in moving to the Emirates Stadium.

Furthermore, Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha, who has expressed a desire for a new challenge under Arteta’s guidance, remains on Arsenal’s radar as the club looks to strengthen up to seven positions when the transfer window reopens this summer.
