Door opened: Liverpool finally have green light to sign “unstoppable” winger…

Liverpool has received a significant boost in their efforts to sign the “unstoppable” winger Bradley Barcola, as Paris Saint-Germain has introduced even more competition to their already packed attacking lineup.

Throughout the summer, the Reds have been working to reach an agreement for the 23-year-old, but negotiations have repeatedly stalled due to PSG’s valuation of approximately £145 million.

However, this situation may be shifting now that the French champions have bolstered their squad with the additions of Mika Godts, Maghnes Akliouche, and Ferran Torres, which could make it increasingly challenging for Barcola to secure regular playing time.

Liverpool is gearing up to make another attempt to sign Barcola.

As reported by The Standard, Liverpool is anticipated to present a new offer following PSG’s acquisition of Godts from Ajax.

The Belgian winger has signed a five-year deal, with the transfer potentially valued at around £47 million.

Barcola is believed to be interested in the prospect of joining Liverpool, and PSG’s recent signings may make his departure more feasible. He was an unused substitute in the 2-1 UEFA Super Cup win against Aston Villa, with new signing Akliouche taking the starting position instead.

Additionally, PSG has officially secured Ferran Torres from Barcelona for a reported fee of €50 million, further expanding Luis Enrique’s attacking options.

Luis Enrique has also hinted that players who are unhappy may be allowed to leave, stating, “when a player doesn’t have a smile when coming here, it’s better to look for another solution.”

Enrique has previously lauded Barcola, referring to him as “unstoppable.”

The latest developments clearly enhance Liverpool’s position.

With PSG now featuring Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, Akliouche, Torres, and Godts vying for attacking positions, it becomes increasingly difficult to justify holding onto Barcola at an inflated price if his playing time diminishes.

Liverpool, on the other hand, require an additional top-tier winger, and Barcola is an ideal match. He brings speed, directness, and strong one-on-one skills, and his youth suggests he could play a significant role in Andoni Iraola’s offense for many years to come.

The challenge lies in the cost. Despite PSG’s increasing attacking options, £145m is still a substantial amount.

Consequently, Liverpool should consider making another substantial bid while maintaining financial prudence. The situation has changed in their favor, and PSG may ultimately need to make concessions.
