David Ornstein: Liverpool has a ‘very strong chance’ of acquiring a ‘crazy’ star alongside Wirtz.

Liverpool is nearing a summer transfer for Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez, as reported by The Athletic journalist David Ornstein.

The Premier League champions are scheduled to conduct further discussions regarding a deal for the Hungary international this week, with indications of ‘a very good chance’ that agreements will be finalized.

Kerkez is thought to have already settled on personal terms for a move to Anfield, with only club-to-club negotiations remaining before his eagerly awaited transfer.

Bournemouth is preparing to sign Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert as a replacement for the 21-year-old, who is anticipated to leave the Cherries after two seasons on the Dorset coast.

Liverpool to Engage in Milos Kerkez Discussions

Anticipated to finalize an agreement for the 21-year-old.

According to Ornstein, meetings are anticipated this week among Bournemouth, Liverpool, and Kerkez’s representatives to potentially bring the three parties closer to a resolution:

“Meetings are anticipated this week between Bournemouth, Liverpool, and Milos Kerkez’s representatives.

“There is a very good chance that agreements will be reached for the left-back to move to Anfield.

“Bournemouth is preparing to sign Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert as his replacement, but that transfer will only be completed if a deal for Kerkez is finalized.”

Kerkez is expected to join Anfield as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who has just over a year remaining on his contract and turned 31 in March.

The Hungary international has risen as one of the most promising left-backs in the Premier League under Andoni Iraola, with his value increasing significantly.

Bournemouth is now looking to secure a substantial profit after acquiring the ‘crazy’ 21-year-old from AZ for approximately £15.5m, as reports suggest his transfer to Liverpool could be around £40m.

Liverpool has confirmed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong as their initial acquisition of the summer and is now nearing an agreement for his ‘world-class’ teammate Florian Wirtz, who is expected to complete his medical at Anfield in the next few days.
