Arsenal’s lineup against PSG: Expected team news, injury updates, and confirmed players for today’s Champions League match.

The Gunners receive a significant boost with the return of Jurrien Timber after injury. The defender was uncertain for the semi-final second leg following his absence in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to Bournemouth.

Mikel Arteta had indicated after that match that Timber was unfit for selection, but he participated in training on Tuesday upon the squad’s arrival in Paris.

‘I will evaluate (Timber) today to determine if he can start again,’ Arteta mentioned on Tuesday evening.

Timber is likely to replace Ben White in defense, who was one of two alterations to the Arsenal lineup last weekend.

Thomas Partey was the other change and is expected to retain his position after serving a suspension for the first leg against PSG last week.

Partey’s return will allow Declan Rice to advance into a more offensive role, having played deeper in midfield during the first leg.

Rice has been a standout performer for Arsenal in this Champions League campaign and is their leading scorer in the knockout stage this season.

In the attacking front, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are anticipated to start on the wings, but Arteta faces a decision regarding the central striker position.

Leandro Trossard started in the first leg, but Mikel Merino may take his place this evening. Merino has performed well as a makeshift striker for Arsenal, although he was less impactful last week when deployed in midfield.

Riccardo Calafiori has returned to the squad after resuming training, having been sidelined since March due to a knee injury. ‘He has traveled and is fit and ready to play when needed,’ Arteta stated.

‘That is excellent news as well.’ Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Merino, Martinelli.

Arsenal’s lineup includes Neto, Raya, Setford; Calafiori, Kacurri, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly, Saliba, Tierney, Timber, and Zinchenko; Merino, Nwaneri, Odegaard, Partey, and Rice; along with Martinelli, Saka, Sterling, and Trossard.

The following players are currently injured: Gabriel (hamstring), Havertz (hamstring), Jesus (knee), Jorginho (rib), and Tomiyasu (knee).

The match is scheduled for 8 PM BST on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Parc des Princes in Paris, and will be broadcasted on TNT Sports, officiated by referee Felix Zwayer from Germany.
