The Gamecocks secured one of the nation’s premier wide receiver classes during the recent recruiting cycle, featuring five prospects who participated in spring practice.

Both Beamer and receivers coach Mike Furrey have commended these freshmen since their arrival in January.

During a Welcome Home Tour event in Rock Hill this week, Beamer was specifically asked about Malik Clark, a former four-star recruit from Rock Hill High. Clark concluded the spring with a touchdown reception in the Gamecocks’ spring game.

As a senior with the Bearcats, under the guidance of former Gamecock quarterback Jake Bentley, Clark recorded 68 receptions for 976 yards and 10 touchdowns.

On3’s Charles Power highlighted Clark’s potential in his analysis of the class, noting, ‘Malik Clark possesses unique physical attributes that set him apart from other receivers.

Standing over 6-foot-2 with long arms, he is among the most athletic receivers in this recruiting cycle, especially when considering his size.

He has shown significant improvement as a senior, and while he is an exceptional physical talent, he needed to refine the technical aspects of his game.

His progress has made us optimistic about his future.’

South Carolina’s 2025 freshman wide receiver class also includes Brian Rowe, Jayden Sellers, Lex Cyrus, Jordon Gidron, and Donovan Murph, who will enroll at the end of the month.
