Liverpool have reached an agreement with a player – the Reds are progressing towards finalizing a deal for his signing.

Liverpool is actively pursuing a deal for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande to enhance their attacking options.

The Reds have pinpointed him as the primary candidate to succeed Mohamed Salah.

The club’s interest in the 19-year-old has frequently made headlines throughout the year.

On May 28th, the winger acknowledged the Reds’ interest and expressed his desire to make a significant move.

Later that month, we reported that Diomande appears to favor a transfer to the Premier League club, which has initiated negotiations.

Just three days ago, Sport Witness reported on claims from Germany indicating that Liverpool is in discussions with his agent to outmaneuver Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool seeks agreement with Leipzig

PSG has provided the Premier League club with a green light to pursue Yan Diomande this summer.

According to Media Foot, both Liverpool and the Champions League winners have come to an understanding with the player following initial discussions.

PSG advisor Luis Campos has been spearheading their interest and has already engaged in talks with all involved parties. However, he has not made any progress due to RB Leipzig’s asking price for the Ivory Coast international.

While no specific figure has been disclosed, it exceeds what Luis Enrique’s team is prepared to offer. Consequently, PSG has withdrawn from the transfer race, which is advantageous for the Reds.

With an agreement established with the player’s agent, Andoni Iraola’s team must now secure a complete agreement with the German club.

Leipzig presents a challenge for Liverpool

Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, RB Leipzig’s position.

The Bundesliga club has dismissed Liverpool’s ‘€100m package’ and will only approve a transfer if there is a ‘substantial offer exceeding €100m’. They have not specified their asking price for Yan Diomande.

Currently, there is no new proposal from Liverpool. Meanwhile, Leipzig is negotiating with his agent regarding an enhanced contract.

The situation surrounding the forward is ‘very dynamic’. Further developments are expected if the Reds submit a new offer.

Diomande is under contract until 2030, and Transfermarkt values him at €90m. He recorded 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances.
