Liverpool has been granted approval to pursue Kvicha Kvaratskhelia following a £110m offer and a hint at a potential transfer.

The Georgian player, who is a target for Liverpool, is expected to make a decision regarding his club future now that Georgia has been eliminated from Euro 2024. Georgia faced a 4-1 defeat against Spain in the Round of 16 on Sunday.

Kvaratskhelia, who currently plays for Napoli, had previously stated that he would make a decision about his future after the Euros in Germany.

This decision comes after Georgia’s historic victory over Portugal, where he scored a goal, securing their spot in the knockout phase for the first time in their history.

“I have great respect for Napoli and their new manager, Antonio Conte. I will make a decision about my future after the Euros. Right now, my focus is on the upcoming game against Spain.”

Georgia’s departure has opened up the possibility for Kvaratskhelia to make a decision on his future at Napoli or seek a move elsewhere, potentially paving the way for Liverpool to pursue the talented winger in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain, who failed with a £110 million bid, reports suggest that Kvaratskhelia is more inclined towards a move to the Premier League rather than joining Parc des Princes.

In addition to Liverpool, two other English clubs are rumored to be eyeing a move for Kvaratskhelia, although their identities remain undisclosed at this point.

It is evident that the Reds may face stiff competition for the winger, who has impressed since his arrival at Napoli in July 2022.

With 25 goals and 26 assists in 88 appearances for Napoli, the Serie A outfit is keen on extending Kvaratskhelia’s contract.

Despite speculation, Napoli’s manager, Conte, has affirmed that Kvaratskhelia will remain with the club. In a recent press conference, Conte stated firmly: “There are no doubts.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stays here and he will play for Napoli. There are no doubts, it’s all clear. Kvara will stay here with us.”

Napoli issued a club statement emphasizing that Kvaratskhelia is not available for transfer this summer.

The player has a contract with the club for another three years, and Napoli made it clear that neither the player’s agents nor his father have the authority to determine his future.

The club asserted its control over the situation by stating, “It is not the agents or fathers who decide the future of a player under contract with Napoli but the Calcio Napoli club!!! End of the story.”
