Arsenal Injury Update: Latest on Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz Return Dates
The Gunners are poised to receive a significant boost in their attacking lineup following the international break.
Update on Arsenal injuries: The latest on Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Kai Havertz, including their return schedules. The Gunners are likely to experience a considerable improvement in their attack following the international break.
As Arsenal approaches the first international break of 2025, they have successfully ended a three-match winless streak in the Premier League.
The team secured a victory in Sunday’s London derby against Chelsea, thanks to a header from Mikel Merino off a corner taken by Martin Odegaard.
Currently, Mikel Arteta’s squad trails Premier League leaders Liverpool by 12 points. While it seems unlikely they will catch the Reds in the title race, they are well-positioned to finish as the top contenders behind them.
Consequently, the Champions League presents Arsenal with their best opportunity to clinch a trophy this season, and there is encouraging news regarding injuries as they prepare for a crucial match against Real Madrid next month.
Here’s the latest on Arsenal’s injury situation:
Bukayo Saka
There is encouraging news regarding Arsenal’s key player. Mikel Arteta has announced that Bukayo Saka will intensify his rehabilitation this week in hopes of being fit for the Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
“He will be at the Arsenal training ground, and we hope he will be working more with the ball than he has been,” Arteta stated prior to the 1-0 victory over Chelsea.
“This means he will be passing, shooting, and running. He has already done a considerable amount of individual work on the pitch.
“Next, we need to coordinate with others for a more competitive training session and assess how he performs in that environment.
“He’s making significant progress and getting closer. We’ll see how he integrates with the team and how quickly he can regain his fitness.”
Expected return date: April 2025
Kai Havertz
Unfortunately, the news is not as promising for Kai Havertz, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
The forward sustained a hamstring injury in Dubai shortly after the transfer window closed, leaving Arsenal in a challenging position.
Havertz recently underwent surgery and shared an update on Instagram: “The past few days have been challenging both physically and mentally. However, yesterday marked a positive turning point with a successful operation and a victory.
“I appreciate all the supportive messages I’ve received during this time; they have truly made a difference. My focus is now on my recovery and providing as much support as I can to the team from behind the scenes.”
Estimated return date: Summer 2025
Gabriel Jesus
Gabriel Jesus, another forward for Arsenal, is also facing an extended period away from the pitch.
The Brazilian sustained an ACL injury during the FA Cup match against Manchester United in January and has since had surgery.
He shared a photo of himself leaving the hospital with the caption: “There will always be answers to everything, which we will only understand in time. I have faith and trust in God.”
Estimated return date: Unknown
Takehiro Tomiyasu
This season has been particularly difficult for Takehiro Tomiyasu.
The Japanese international has played only six minutes and has undergone surgery in hopes of overcoming his ongoing injury struggles.
In an Instagram post last month, he stated: “I had knee surgery a few days ago and have already begun my rehabilitation to return to doing what I love most.”
“This has undoubtedly been the hardest time in my career, and while it continues for a bit longer, I refuse to give up. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you all again.”
