Liverpool is holding an ’emergency meeting’ today as the interim manager is ‘prepared to step in’ to take over from Arne Slot.

Reports indicate that there will be an ’emergency meeting’ at Liverpool today to discuss Arne Slot’s future following the 3-3 draw against Leeds United.

Slot is facing intense scrutiny as Liverpool has only secured four victories in their last 15 matches across all competitions, suffering nine losses in that span.

The Reds hit a new low last week, suffering a deserved 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League group stages. Since that match, they have managed to earn just five points from encounters with West Ham, Sunderland, and Leeds United.

The nature of Liverpool’s performances in these matches has been equally troubling, with Slot’s team relinquishing the lead twice to draw at Elland Road on Saturday evening.

Recently, Slot made the significant and warranted decision to bench Mohamed Salah from his starting lineup, and Salah has remained an unused substitute in two of Liverpool’s last three games.

This decision has evidently upset Salah, who notably criticized Slot after the draw against Leeds United.

Salah stated: “I have contributed so much to this club over the years, especially last season. Now I find myself on the bench, and I am unsure why.

“It feels as though the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I feel. It appears that someone wanted me to take all the blame.

“I received numerous assurances during the summer, and so far, I have been on the bench for three games, which makes me question whether they kept their promise.

“I have often mentioned that I had a good relationship with the manager, but suddenly, it seems we no longer have any relationship. I do not understand why, but it appears that someone does not want me at the club.”

Currently, Slot is among the top candidates to be the next Premier League manager dismissed, and a report from an insider on Twitter, featuring a ‘team of five elite reporters,’ suggested on Saturday night that there will be an ’emergency meeting’ at Liverpool on Sunday.

They also asserted that Salah has ‘not’ requested to leave, while club icon Steven Gerrard is ‘prepared to step in’ as interim manager.

They announced on X: Exclusive: @MoSalah has not requested to leave. An emergency meeting is scheduled for tomorrow. @LFC may issue a statement following tonight’s developments.

‘Slot is not involved in the Salah situation. Edwards & Hughes aim to maximize the sale of Salah. Gerrard is ready to take over as temporary manager.’

They further mentioned: ‘John Heitinga is also among the candidates alongside Steven Gerrard to become interim manager of @LFC if Arne Slot is dismissed.’

Interestingly, Liverpool journalist James Wathland has suggested that captain Virgil van Dijk and other players are supporting Salah in relation to Slot.
