Liverpool 1-1 Sunderland: Premier League Player Ratings

Liverpool player receives a 4.5/10 for a disastrous performance: Ratings and highlights from the draw against Sunderland.

Wirtz shines, but a lackluster Liverpool is held to a draw by Sunderland.

Isidor’s opportunity marked the final moment of the match, resulting in a 1-1 stalemate at Anfield.

Liverpool Player Ratings

GK: Alisson Becker – 6.5/10

Made several routine saves throughout the game and had little to do with the ball at his feet. The Brazilian was unlucky to concede to Talbi’s shot, which took a significant deflection.

RB: Joe Gomez – 6/10

Was arguably lucky not to receive a red card for a reckless challenge on Mandava. Gomez found it difficult to cope with the intensity of Sunderland’s players and failed to contribute offensively.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 7/10

Defensively solid, but appeared very shaky and seemed like a mistake waiting to happen when in possession.

CB: Virgil van Dijk – 7.5/10

Had more touches than any other player on the field and performed well overall. Van Dijk faced challenges from Brobbey at times in the first half but remained resilient and delivered a commendable performance.

LB: Andrew Robertson – 7.5/10

Displayed great energy up and down the left side. Robertson delivered several quality crosses into the box and had little defensive work to manage.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 6.5/10

Came close to scoring with a header that hit the woodwork in the 44th minute, but aside from that, Mac Allister struggled significantly. He had difficulty coping with Sunderland’s intensity and pressing and was ineffective in possession as well.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 7.5/10

Provided a solid creative outlet for Liverpool. Gravenberch’s passes into the final third created real issues for Sunderland’s defense, and he also worked tirelessly to handle their aggressive, high-pressing midfield.

AM: Florian Wirtz – 7.5/10

Unfortunate not to have received a goal for his shot in the 81st minute. Wirtz appeared very lively and energetic in his forward play, generating several good opportunities for his teammates.

RW: Dominik Szoboszlai – 6.5/10

Challenged Roefs multiple times with some threatening long-range shots, but aside from that, Szoboszlai had a rather subdued evening.

ST: Alexander Isak – 4.5/10

Entirely unnoticeable for the majority of the match. The Swede rarely engaged in the play and had little chance to score.

LW: Cody Gakpo – 5/10

Barely touched the ball and did not contribute significantly to the attack. The Dutchman was replaced at half-time by Mohamed Salah.

SUB: Mohamed Salah – 7.5/10

Generated more chances than any other player on the field, despite only being introduced at half-time.

SUB: Hugo Ekitike – N/A

Had little impact after coming on.

SUB: Federico Chiesa – N/A

Made minimal contributions after being substituted in.

SUB: Milos Kerkez – N/A

Did not have much of an impact after entering the game.
