Liverpool are considering a move for Algerian attacker Mohamed Amoura in order to lead the team under new manager Arne Slot.

Liverpool is looking to outbid Wolfsburg in the race to acquire Union Saint-Gilloise forward Mohamed Amoura in the upcoming summer transfer window to strengthen their attacking options.

Amoura has been in fine form for Union SG in the Belgium Pro League, contributing significantly to their league title win.

Despite his height of 1.70 meters, the 24-year-old possesses remarkable strength and balance, allowing him to navigate past defenders with ease. His exceptional ball control, first touch, and skill set make him a valuable asset on the field.

The Algeria international displays a blend of creativity and goal-scoring ability, showcasing exceptional technique and vision that complements his speed and movement on the field.

He excels in making progressive carries, engaging in ground duels with opponents, and consistently launching direct attacks to benefit his team.

Amoura captured the attention of the scouting department during the recent Europa League group stage match at home against Liverpool. In that game, he not only provided an assist but also scored a goal, contributing significantly to his team’s 2-1 victory over the Reds in December.

At 24 years old, he possesses the versatility to operate as a central striker, support the main forward, or even play as a left-winger. Throughout this season, Amoura has made 45 appearances across all competitions for Union SG, tallying an impressive total of 23 goals and seven assists.

Kicker reports that Liverpool is interested in signing Amoura from Union SG, while other European clubs such as Wolfsburg are also considering making a move. The Reds’ attacking department has faced challenges in terms of productivity during crucial stages of the season, resulting in severe consequences for the team.

Liverpool’s attacking department is known for its fluidity, but they lack attackers who possess directness and the ability to overcome multiple defenders. Diogo Jota has been plagued by frequent injuries, and Mohamed Salah’s speed and agility have declined due to the natural aging process.

Additionally, Luis Diaz has struggled to deliver in terms of productivity, despite his overall contribution to the team’s open play. As Arne Slot takes over from Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool needs to rejuvenate their squad during the summer transfer window, which may also lead to tactical changes.
