Liverpool is set to make significant investments in January! The Reds are in discussions to acquire TWO Premier League stars in an effort to impede Arsenal’s title pursuit.

Liverpool is ready to invest heavily in two Premier League players this January to disrupt Arsenal’s title ambitions.

Following a defeat against Manchester City last weekend, the Reds find themselves eight points behind the Gunners after the first 11 matches of the season.

Nevertheless, the club appears committed to supporting Arne Slot in the upcoming New Year as they aim to close the gap on Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Liverpool’s title defense is struggling

Goals from Erling Haaland, Nico Gonzalez, and Jeremy Doku contributed to a disheartening 3-0 defeat for Liverpool at Manchester City earlier this month.

This outcome indicates that the Reds have already suffered more league losses this season than they did in the previous one, with their title defense already in jeopardy.

Liverpool made significant investments to strengthen the squad over the summer, acquiring Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Giovanni Leoni.

The club also managed to persuade key players Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk to extend their contracts at Anfield, although they could not retain Trent Alexander-Arnold, who chose to leave his childhood club for Real Madrid.

Despite a summer filled with substantial investments, Liverpool is facing challenges and returns to domestic action this weekend sitting eighth in the standings, tied on points with rivals Manchester United, having lost five of their last six league games.

Slot will be eager to return to winning form when they host Nottingham Forest in Merseyside on Saturday.

Reds are accustomed to January investments.

While Liverpool was initially hesitant to spend in the January transfer window after a summer of heavy spending, the Merseyside giants are now ready to support Slot in the New Year as they seek to revive their title challenge and thwart Arsenal’s quest for trophies.

According to DaveOCKOP, Liverpool is eyeing two Premier League stars as they aim to bridge the eight-point gap between themselves and the Gunners.

In the past, Liverpool has made significant investments in their squad during the winter transfer window, notably acquiring Van Dijk, Luis Diaz, and Cody Gakpo in 2017, 2022, and 2023, respectively. Another winger signing could be on the horizon for January.

DaveOCKOP has disclosed that “Liverpool will initiate preliminary discussions with Bournemouth this weekend regarding the acquisition of Antoine Semenyo.

Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, who played a pivotal role in bringing Semenyo to Bournemouth from Bristol City for a reasonable £10.5 million in 2023, is reportedly still a strong supporter of the 25-year-old.

It is believed that the Cherries would seek approximately £75 million for the Ghana international if Liverpool chooses to formalize their interest.”

Liverpool will return home on Saturday to face Nottingham Forest at Anfield in a favorable stretch of matches as the Reds aim to gain some momentum.

Following their match against the Tricky Trees, they will compete in a Champions League fixture against Eredivisie team PSV, before concluding the month with a trip to the capital to face West Ham.

Slot’s team will then begin December with a home match against the high-flying Sunderland, followed by consecutive away games against Leeds and Inter in the Premier League and Champions League, respectively.
