Arsenal is poised to be the next destination for the La Liga star, with the winger having nearly finalized all terms with the club.

La Liga standout is set to join Arsenal, as the winger has reportedly reached an agreement on nearly all terms with the Gunners.

The La Liga star is set to join Arsenal, as the winger has reportedly reached a near-complete agreement with the Gunners.

Arsenal is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a deal with Nico Williams for a summer transfer from Athletic Bilbao. According to sources, the agreement is nearly complete.

The Gunners are enjoying a solid season in the Premier League but are likely to finish as runners-up for the third consecutive year. Over the weekend, Liverpool extended their lead in the title race to 15 points after defeating Southampton 3-1, while Arsenal managed a 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

It would require an extraordinary turn of events for Arsenal to re-enter the title contention, as Liverpool has only lost one match in the league this season.

Mikel Arteta faces mounting pressure from fans who anticipated Manchester City would be their primary competition this year. The expectation is that Arteta will need to deliver the Premier League title next season.

Despite this, Arsenal still has a chance to secure the Champions League trophy, having achieved a commanding 7-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the first leg of their last-16 clash.

Looking ahead, Arteta and incoming sporting director Andrea Berta are focusing on the summer transfer window, with Williams identified as a key target. Reports from Spain indicate that Williams has turned down Barcelona due to a near-finalized agreement to join Arsenal.

Barcelona’s coach Hansi Flick is unable to promise Williams a starting position next season, given the impressive performances of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

The report further states that Williams has nearly finalized all terms with Arsenal, having been persuaded by Arteta’s vision of an ambitious project where he will play a crucial role.

The report states: “The Gunners are poised to finalize their plans and outpace other contenders, which include several prominent clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus.”

Williams, who celebrated victory in the European Championship with Spain this summer, is said to have turned down multiple offers from elite clubs to continue his career in Bilbao following the Euros.

Reflecting on his decision to remain with Athletic, Williams remarked over the weekend: “The bond we share at the core of the club is remarkable.

There is a mutual respect among everyone, which is truly special. I doubt I will find this kind of atmosphere anywhere else.”

“I chose to stay for that reason. I made the decision I believed was best for me. I am content and committed to giving my all.”
