Antoine Semenyo transfer now more likely for Liverpool after Michael Olise news…
Antoine Semenyo’s transfer to Liverpool appears more probable following the news regarding Michael Olise.
Bayern Munich is growing increasingly assured that Liverpool will not secure the signing of Michael Olise this summer.
The Merseyside club is competing with Premier League rivals Manchester City, both showing interest in the Bundesliga winger.
This comes after an impressive debut season in Germany, where he contributed to 35 goals in 50 matches across all competitions.
Liverpool faces a setback in their pursuit of Michael Olise.
Christian Falk has reported that FC Bayern intends to offer Olise a new and enhanced contract.
“It is TRUE: Liverpool and Manchester City have encountered a setback in their efforts to sign Michael Olise,” the BILD reporter disclosed exclusively to CF Bayern Insider.
“We previously learned that the French international does not possess a release clause in his contract (unlike his situation at Crystal Palace). However, there was no absolute certainty regarding this. Now, Max Eberl, the head of sport, has officially confirmed the absence of a release clause, sending a clear message to the Premier League: ‘You have no chance of acquiring this player.’
“They are now looking to provide him with a new contract, and I can assure you that Olise is very much invested in the team.
“Michael Olise may not be very vocal, but I can tell you that he frequently communicates with his teammates on WhatsApp while relaxing at home. Players have informed us that he is always sending WhatsApp messages, checking in with, ‘Hey, how are you? Are you feeling well? You trained excellently today!’ So, while he may be reserved with the media, he is a significant WhatsApp leader within the group.”
The former Crystal Palace player’s current contract at the Allianz Arena runs until 2029.
Bayern Munich players’ annual wages (base salary)
Harry Kane £21.5m
Manuel Neuer £18.1m
Joshua Kimmich £17.2m
Serge Gnabry £16.2m
Jamal Musiala £16.2m
Alphonso Davies £12.9m
Luis Diaz £12m
Michael Olise £11.6m
It is clear that decision-makers at Säbener Straße have noticed that the 23-year-old is not among the club’s highest earners. This is certainly a crucial reason behind Bayern’s efforts to secure a new contract for Olise.
This raises the question regarding the potential effects on Liverpool’s transfer activities.
Are Liverpool placing a higher priority on Antoine Semenyo than on Olise? It remains uncertain who the Reds view as their ideal long-term successor to Mo Salah.
Recent reports suggest that the answer might be found closer to home in Bournemouth, as Antoine Semenyo is reportedly of significant interest to Liverpool.

It is also important to remember that we have a considerable advantage with former Cherries sporting director Richard Hughes.
This connection has already proven beneficial, as Liverpool successfully outmaneuvered competitors to sign Milos Kerkez this summer.
Perhaps Semenyo appears to be a more feasible option and offers better value compared to his Bayern counterpart, especially if the Bundesliga champions manage to finalize new terms for Olise before the summer transfer window opens.
Who might take over for Mo Salah?
The risk for us is that we could be pursuing a player who is currently in excellent form.
With nine goal contributions in as many matches (across all competitions), the Ghana international has made a stunning start to the 2025/26 season. This sharply contrasts with his previous season’s tally of 19 goals and assists in 42 matches.
In comparison, Michael Olise has already accumulated 50 goal contributions in 67 games for Bayern, albeit while playing for a top-tier European team.
Ultimately, if we are considering a true successor to Mo Salah, the Frenchman may be the most fitting candidate available.
Mo Salah statistics Michael Olise statistics Antoine Semenyo statistics
Non-penalty expected goals (xG) 0.45 0.39 0.28
Expected assisted goals (xAG) 0.35 0.41 0.12
Shot-creating actions 3.87 6.53 3.85
Progressive passes 3.83 7.33 3.40
Progressive carries 4.09 5.12 3.91

To clarify, we hold Antoine Semenyo in high regard as a player; he is thrilling with the ball, poses a danger within the 18-yard box, and possesses Premier League experience.
Yet, if you are in search of the most outstanding successor to Mo Salah available in the market – it is likely Michael Olise.
Nevertheless, considering the extent of the work we will probably need to undertake with the defense in the upcoming transfer windows, we can see why Liverpool might opt for a more budget-friendly choice in Semenyo.
