(Video) A journalist observed Hugo Ekitike’s interactions with Eintracht players following the match’s conclusion.

Hugo Ekitike made a triumphant return to Eintracht Frankfurt last night, netting the first of Liverpool’s five goals in a commanding win at Deutsche Bank Park.

The French forward equalized in the 35th minute after the Reds rallied from Rasmus Kristensen’s initial goal, skillfully receiving a superb long-range pass from Andy Robertson and maintaining his composure to place the ball past goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.

The 23-year-old graciously chose not to celebrate scoring against his previous club and received applause from many home fans as he was substituted with just over 15 minutes left in the game.

What did Ekitike do after the match in Frankfurt?

Ekitike was a former teammate of many Eintracht players who participated on Wednesday night, and his actions post-match highlighted the connections he still shares with the German club.

Journalist Lewis Steele shared a video on X showing the Liverpool striker momentarily joining the home side’s players as they took a subdued lap around the pitch to express their gratitude to the fans who remained in the stadium after the match concluded.

Hugo Ekitike briefly participated in the Eintracht Frankfurt players’ lap of the pitch following Liverpool’s 5-1 victory on Wednesday night.

Even if the groin issue that led to Alexander Isak’s substitution at halftime is not serious, it appears highly likely that Ekitike will start against Brentford on Saturday after his impressive performance in Frankfurt last night.

He provided his former club with a timely reminder of what they have been missing since his move to Anfield in July, and he is quickly becoming a favorite among Liverpool fans, pundits, and journalists alike.

Hugo Ekitike joins Frankfurt for a lap of honor (let’s just refer to it as a lap) at his former club. Outstanding goal tonight, he absolutely MUST start on Saturday.
