Alisson received widespread acclaim as three football legends, including a Manchester United icon, praised the Liverpool goalkeeper’s remarkable performance.

Alisson was celebrated as the best ever, receiving commendations from three football legends, one of whom is a Manchester United icon, for his outstanding performances.

During a Champions League match where Liverpool narrowly defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of their last-16 tie, Alisson’s extraordinary display left Jamie Carragher needing to step in to assist Peter Schmeichel, as both were astonished by the Brazilian’s heroics.

Liverpool has had an exceptional season, currently leading the Premier League and advancing to the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle.

However, their encounter with PSG proved to be their toughest challenge yet, as they faced the formidable Ligue 1 leaders in a thrilling match.

The Brazilian goalkeeper faced an onslaught of 27 shots, with 10 on target, yet he consistently thwarted PSG’s attempts.

When Harvey Elliott scored the only goal just three minutes from the end, Liverpool executed a remarkable heist.

Following the match, PSG’s manager Luis Enrique expressed his frustration and made a bold promise to Liverpool.

Nonetheless, the spotlight was on Alisson, and even the legendary Peter Schmeichel was left in awe of his performance.

Speaking to Alisson for CBS Sports, Schmeichel remarked, “I genuinely believe this is one of the finest goalkeeping performances I have ever witnessed.”

The former UCL champion with Manchester United in 1999 then shared Thierry Henry’s comments: “Without you, Thierry mentioned about 10 minutes ago that you should have lost this game 3-0; I believe you made more than three crucial saves.”

In light of Schmeichel’s enthusiastic endorsement, Liverpool icon Carragher took the opportunity to elevate the conversation even further.

Alisson, I must interject, my apologies, Peter,” Carragher chuckled as he interrupted the exchange between Schmeichel and Alisson.

“Alisson, Peter just mentioned that this is one of the finest performances he has ever witnessed. I can confidently say it’s the best goalkeeping display I’ve ever seen.”

The PSG star made a commitment to Liverpool as Alisson responded to whether this was his top performance of the season, saying, “I consider it the best of my life!”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot remarked, “He’s the best goalkeeper in the world. I’ve never seen anyone perform at this level.”

Alisson also garnered heartfelt accolades from Stephen Warnock and Rio Ferdinand.

On BBC Radio 5 Live, Warnock expressed his admiration for the saves.

“A hat-trick of world-class saves. Absolutely remarkable from Alisson,” Warnock stated.

“They must be wondering what he’s on. He has been outstanding tonight.”

Ferdinand, speaking for TNT Sports, noted, “Alisson has demonstrated a masterclass in goalkeeping today. He has kept his team in the game. Exceptional!”

Liverpool’s victory in Paris halted PSG’s streak of 10 consecutive wins. Although they were close to achieving an 11th, midfielder Vitinha echoed his manager’s sentiments with a significant promise to Liverpool ahead of the second leg.

“It’s challenging to compete in a match like that against such a team,” the Portuguese player shared with L’Equipe. “We had only one goal opportunity, just one shot.”

“Now is the moment to demonstrate our team spirit,” Vitinha added. “We will showcase our character and we’re determined to win there.

“Given the game we played, the victory was well-deserved. We created numerous chances similar to the start of the season, but we failed to convert.”
