Jamie Carragher has characterized Liverpool’s Champions League victory over PSG as a significant injustice in football history.

He acknowledged that Liverpool executed one of the most remarkable heists in the sport during their match against PSG, praising Alisson Becker for his impressive nine saves.

Carragher referred to Liverpool’s narrow 1-0 win, secured by Harvey Elliott’s late goal, as “one of the biggest robberies you’ll ever see.”

Despite PSG’s overwhelming dominance, with 27 shots and 10 on target, they were thwarted by an exceptional performance from Alisson, who made crucial saves throughout the match.

A first-half goal from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was disallowed for offside, and PSG’s inability to convert their chances proved costly when Elliott, coming off the bench, netted the decisive goal in the 87th minute, shocking the crowd at Parc des Princes.

“That’s one of the biggest robberies you will ever see in football,” Carragher stated on CBS.

“I can hardly believe what I witnessed; PSG were truly outstanding and thoroughly outplayed Liverpool.”

He further commended Alisson for his remarkable display, suggesting it could be the pinnacle of his career in a Liverpool jersey.

“If Liverpool goes on to win the tournament, that performance will be etched in memory for years.”

Thierry Henry, another pundit, praised Alisson as “magnificent,” emphasizing the importance of his contributions. “Scoring is crucial, but in this instance, Alisson deserves immense credit.

I believe three of those shots should have resulted in goals. Without him, Liverpool would have faced significant challenges; I can’t recall many Champions League matches with saves of that caliber.”
