Liverpool’s next England striker ruled out after fresh injury update…
Liverpool’s next England striker ruled out following a new injury update.
Liverpool has encountered yet another frustrating setback in their attack, as Rob Page has confirmed that Jayden Danns will be sidelined for an extended period due to a hamstring injury.
Rob Page offers an injury update on Jayden Danns for Liverpool.
The 19-year-old forward sustained the injury during last month’s Premier League 2 match against Ipswich Town, having to be substituted after just thirty minutes.
In a statement to liverpoolfc.com, the head coach of the under-21s provided a sobering update on the young striker’s health after Tuesday’s Vertu Trophy match at Crewe Alexandra.
“It could take a couple of months,” Page acknowledged. “This is not going to be a quick recovery – that’s all I can say for now.
“It’s a setback for him. Dannsy maintains a very positive outlook on life, especially regarding football. If anyone can overcome this challenge, it’s definitely him.
“He has the complete backing of the medical team, the club, myself, and the staff. He will get through this.”
This is yet another disappointing development for a player who was expected to make a first-team breakthrough this season.
Earlier this month, Page referred to Danns as “likely to be the next England no.9 in the coming years,” commending the teenager’s professionalism and eagerness to improve.
Danns’ setback adds to Liverpool’s attacking worries.
This recent update comes after last month’s confirmation that Liverpool was evaluating the striker for a suspected hamstring issue following the 3–2 loss to Ipswich.
The injuries to both Danns and Will Wright – who is recovering from an MCL strain – underscore how stretched our depth has become at the youth level.
As Page pointed out, Danns’ mindset and determination will be crucial for his recovery.
The forward has already demonstrated maturity beyond his years, making a significant impact under Jurgen Klopp with goals in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup before turning 19.
The club is optimistic that his positive mindset, along with robust medical assistance, will help him come back even stronger – as Liverpool recognizes the unique talent he possesses.
