Arsenal Injury Update: Saka, Havertz, Martinelli Ahead of PSV Eindhoven Clash
Arsenal injury updates and expected return timelines for Saka, Havertz, and Martinelli prior to the match against PSV Eindhoven.
Updates on the injuries of Saka, Havertz, and Martinelli, including their projected return dates, as Arsenal readies itself for the showdown with PSV Eindhoven.
As Arsenal fans shift their focus to the Champions League knockout stage, the Premier League giants are eager to kick off March on a positive note following a challenging February.
The team has struggled in the title race and faced disappointment in the Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle United.
With Liverpool unlikely to falter significantly, the Champions League now stands as Arsenal’s primary opportunity for silverware.
Supporters are hoping for a strong performance as the team heads to the Netherlands to face Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.
Last season, Arsenal reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and under Mikel Arteta’s guidance, they aim to achieve an even deeper run this year.
However, they must contend with several injury challenges in their attacking lineup.
As the highly anticipated match at the Philips Stadion approaches, we examine the current injury status of Arsenal’s key players and their expected return.
Myles Lewis-Skelly – return: The promising young talent Myles Lewis-Skelly is back in contention after completing his suspension.
The 18-year-old has shown significant potential this season, although he has already received two red cards in his first 21 professional appearances.
Bukayo Saka – out: The absence of winger Bukayo Saka has been a significant setback for Arsenal in the latter part of the season.
The England international, who has contributed nine goals and 13 assists this season, has been sidelined since late January and is expected to remain out for several more weeks.
Arteta noted, “He’s doing really well; he’s feeling better day by day, but we have to respect the healing process… he has a lot of stages to go through in his rehab.” Expected return date: 16/03/25.
Gabriel Jesus – unavailable: Brazil international Gabriel Jesus is sidelined due to an ACL injury. The former Manchester City forward is expected to be out for an extended period, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
A club announcement earlier this winter stated: “Following his substitution during the match against Manchester United, Gabriel Jesus underwent thorough evaluations, which confirmed an ACL injury in his left knee.” Anticipated return date: 22/11/2025.
Kai Havertz – unavailable: Arsenal forward Kai Havertz suffered a significant hamstring injury during a warm-weather training camp in Dubai last month. The German international is not projected to return until the pre-season.
“We were enjoying a productive camp in Dubai, recharging and training while reconnecting with nature in a new setting, and then the injury occurred unexpectedly,” expressed a disappointed Mikel Arteta. Anticipated return date: 21/07/2025.
Gabriel Martinelli – unavailable: Brazilian winger Martinelli exited the match against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup semi-final and is currently undergoing assessment for a hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old is expected to make his return in April. Anticipated return date: 1/04/2025.
