Liverpool transfer news: Matter of time until Liverpool sign £130m star…

Liverpool transfer updates: It’s only a matter of time before Liverpool secures the £130m star.

Liverpool and Isak receive a boost as Newcastle submits a £69.8m offer for Benjamin Sesko.

This week, Liverpool had a proposal for Alexander Isak turned down, and there have been varying reports regarding the amount the Reds initially offered.

Arne Slot is assembling a star-studded team and considers Isak the ideal player to finalize his attacking acquisitions for the summer. The Dutch coach has already brought in Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, which – even without Isak – positions them as favorites to defend their league title.

As per David Ornstein, Newcastle is nearing a deal for Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, who could serve as Isak’s successor.

Ornstein states: “Newcastle United has submitted a bid of €80million for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The offer consists of €75m (£65.5m; $86.9m) upfront, along with an additional €5m in potential bonuses, and was presented by Newcastle within the last 24 hours.”

Manchester United is also showing interest in Sesko, but it appears unlikely they will outbid Newcastle for his signature.

Sesko’s signing is imminent as Liverpool plans a “new round of discussions” for next week to secure Isak.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool has not withdrawn its interest in Isak, despite reports suggesting the Reds would not submit a second offer for Alex Isak.

Tavolieri reports: “Liverpool FC has never exited the race for Alexander Isak, at all… a new round of discussions has been arranged for early next week to progress towards an agreement with Newcastle United.

“As previously mentioned, Isak exclusively desires LFC, has communicated this to NUFC, and will reiterate it again.”

The journalist indicates that more updates will follow soon.

At this point, it seems improbable that Liverpool will not sign Isak.

While this is not a definitive assertion, I believe Isak will become a Liverpool player, potentially even before the Premier League season kicks off in less than two weeks.

The Champions are set to kick off the season by welcoming Bournemouth to Anfield on Friday, August 15th, and it appears that Isak will likely be a player for Liverpool by that time.

Given that Sesko is on the verge of becoming a star for Newcastle and considering Isak’s public disagreement with the Magpies, it certainly seems like it is only a matter of time before Liverpool reaches an agreement to acquire the 25-year-old.
