Trossard to Start: Anticipated Arsenal Lineup Against Nottingham Forest

Key Player Suspended as Arteta Makes One Adjustment | Projected Arsenal Lineup vs Nottingham Forest

Arsenal is set to visit the City Ground for a pivotal Premier League match against Nottingham Forest this evening.

The Gunners enter this fixture following a disappointing 1-0 loss to West Ham United.

This defeat, coupled with Liverpool’s win over Manchester City, has widened the gap at the top of the table to 11 points.

As a result, Arsenal’s prospects of turning the tide appear challenging, although Mikel Arteta remains optimistic about their title chances this season.

Conversely, Nottingham Forest has enjoyed a strong campaign, currently sitting third in the league with 47 points from 26 matches, despite suffering losses in their last two outings.

Earlier this season, Arsenal secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Forest at the Emirates Stadium.

Team Updates

Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Takehiro Tomiyasu will not participate in tonight’s match due to injuries that have sidelined them for the remainder of the season.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are recovering well from their injuries, but this match comes too soon for their return.

Ethan Nwaneri, who limped off in the previous match against West Ham, is fit and ready to play. However, Myles Lewis-Skelly is suspended after receiving a red card in the same match.

Projected Lineup

Arteta is expected to maintain consistency in the goalkeeping position, with David Raya starting.

The center-back pairing will likely consist of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, while Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are anticipated to occupy the fullback roles, leaving Ben White available as a substitute.

Thomas Partey is likely to maintain his role as the holding midfielder, with Declan Rice potentially partnering him, while Martin Odegaard is expected to occupy the No.10 position.

Leandro Trossard is anticipated to play on the left wing, and Raheem Sterling may take the right side to provide Nwaneri with some rest. Mikel Merino is projected to operate in the false nine role.

Predicted Arsenal line-up against Nottingham Forest:

Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Trossard, Merino, Sterling.
