Arsenal confident of signing attacker in cut-price £55m deal as Arteta targets 7th summer signing…

Arsenal is optimistic about acquiring an attacker in a budget-friendly £55 million deal as Arteta aims for his seventh summer signing.

As reported by journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal is looking for a bargain to bring in Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze, who is eager to join the team this summer.

The Gunners have been active in the transfer market, having made six signings so far.

They have already invested nearly £200 million in new players, but there may be one more significant addition.

It is widely known that Arsenal is keen on securing Eze, and Jacobs states that the club intends to sign him for less than his £68 million release clause.

According to the journalist, the Gunners are hopeful of finalizing a deal for £55 million, but they may need to act swiftly as Palace could prevent Eze’s exit if Marc Guehi departs first.

Guehi is in the final year of his contract with the Eagles, and the south London club might be more willing to sell the center-back given the ongoing interest from rivals Liverpool.

Top-class

Arsenal has completed three pre-season friendlies, and their performance against Tottenham Hotspur this week was underwhelming. The Gunners managed only one shot on target from 16 attempts.

As usual, the emphasis was on the right side with Bukayo Saka attempting to create opportunities.

Gabriel Martinelli failed to win any duels on the opposite side. His substitute, Leandro Trossard, sustained an injury shortly after coming on.

Martinelli has been notable for his direct running over the years, but he often struggles in one-on-one situations.

Trossard has performed slightly better with his skillful play, but lacks the speed to penetrate defenses.

Arsenal requires a blend of both attributes. Eze would be an excellent fit for the club.

The Englishman primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but has also featured on the left wing. He is a playmaker with a tendency to favor the left side.

Eze averaged over two successful dribbles per match last season and showcased his rapid speed during counter-attacks.

The English player recorded 25 goal contributions in the previous term. He would be an exceptional signing for Arsenal.

The responsibility now lies with the Gunners to expedite discussions with Palace to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

They cannot afford to postpone their efforts, as Guehi’s transfer to Liverpool or another club could hinder Eze’s move.
