Liverpool is set to make a formal offer after reaching an agreement on personal terms to acquire a 25-year-old star.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool has arranged an important meeting with Newcastle United to negotiate a deal for Alexander Isak after securing personal terms with the striker.

The Swedish player appears poised to leave St. James Park following three seasons, having reportedly expressed his desire to exit the club. While Newcastle’s camp suggests he has been omitted from the team’s tour in Singapore due to a ‘minor thigh injury,’ various media sources indicate that his absence is linked to his request to leave.

Isak has allegedly given his approval to join Liverpool, prompting the Merseyside club to expedite their efforts to sign him in what could be another record-breaking deal this summer.

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri, the Premier League champions have organized a new round of discussions this week regarding the potential transfer of Isak to Anfield this summer.

In a statement on Sky Sports, the transfer expert mentions that the 6 ft 2 in prolific striker has prioritized Liverpool and has accepted a five-year contract, with his personal terms and salary expectations being fulfilled.

The Reds are now preparing to engage in discussions with the Tyneside club to present a written offer ‘in the coming hours’ as they aim to finalize the agreement, according to the report.

Bold move

While the Reds acknowledge Newcastle’s £150m asking price for Isak’s transfer, Tavolieri highlights that Liverpool will propose an initial £100m during their negotiations and are hopeful of reaching an agreement on a fee around £120m plus performance-related bonuses.

Arne Slot has already managed nearly £300m in expenditures on high-profile signings such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez—but Liverpool shows no signs of slowing down as they strive to finalize a significant move for Isak to complete their attacking overhaul.

The 25-year-old displayed exceptional performance last season, netting 27 goals and contributing six assists, with only Mohamed Salah scoring more goals in the Premier League than him.

If Liverpool successfully negotiates Isak’s transfer, Slot may be equipped with one of the most formidable attacking lineups in Europe, aiming to reclaim the league title and make a deep run in the UEFA Champions League next season.
