Liverpool Officials Set to Board Flight for £86m ‘Superstar’ Deal.

Liverpool is intensifying its pursuit of a new winger in the upcoming weeks, as per reports – with the Reds dispatching a delegation to Real Madrid for Brazilian winger Rodrygo to join the team shortly.

The Reds have been on the lookout for a winger for over a year, having had Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon on their radar last summer, and this season has seen similar links to various wide players.

This could lead to a potential transfer for Rodrygo, who might consider his future away from Xabi Alonso’s squad.

Report: Liverpool ‘Dispatches Delegation’ to Madrid to Secure Rodrygo.

The Brazilian may find his playing time reduced at the La Liga side.

According to a report on X (formerly Twitter) by journalist Eduardo Burgos, Rodrygo is engaged in a ‘three-pronged game’, with three Premier League clubs showing interest in acquiring his services ahead of a significant summer transfer window.

The Reds will send Israeli agent Pini Zahavi to Madrid to finalize the signing of Rodrygo, positioning the Anfield club ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea in the competition to secure the Brazilian talent for their left-wing position.

However, Bayern Munich is now planning to join the fray, as they have decided not to increase their offer for Liverpool’s own winger, Luis Diaz, after a bid for the Colombian was reportedly rejected on Tuesday.

Burgos also mentions in Spanish outlet AS that Liverpool is prepared to ‘make a substantial bid’ for the Los Blancos winger, although his future remains uncertain.

Madrid is contemplating his departure this summer, based on his valuation and the financial influx it would bring, and with Liverpool exploring the possibility, he is their preferred choice for the left wing, having been described as a ‘superstar’ by Luka Modric.

Arne Slot’s team will do ‘everything in their power’ to achieve that goal while also pursuing a striker – likely Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Zahavi being dispatched to the Spanish capital, it is believed that Liverpool’s interest will be independent of a transfer involving Ibrahima Konate to the Santiago Bernabeu, even though Madrid values Rodrygo at just under €100 million (£85 million).

Bayern is prepared to meet Madrid’s asking price, but only after a deal for Diaz to move to the Allianz Arena is completely off the table – which could trigger Rodrygo’s transfer to Anfield in a domino effect during this window.
