Jason Tindall provides injury updates on Howe, Isak, Wilson, Barnes, and Willock ahead of Luton encounter

In anticipation of their upcoming Premier League match against Luton, assistant coach Jason Tindall sheds light on the injury situation, offering a glimmer of hope amidst an ongoing crisis. Tindall discusses the possibility of key players making a comeback.

Tindall, who assumed responsibility for the press conference due to Eddie Howe’s illness, provided an update on the boss’ health.

“He’s feeling a bit unwell,” Tindall stated.

“We anticipate his presence tomorrow. Throughout the years of our collaboration, he has experienced a few bouts of illness, but he has consistently been present to guide the team.”

With Howe now joining the extensive list of injured individuals, Tindall also offered a glimmer of hope that we will witness more of the squad in the upcoming weeks.

Isak sustained an injury and had to leave the game at Villa Park before half-time. However, Tindall has mentioned that the Swedish striker’s condition has shown signs of improvement and he might have a chance to participate in the upcoming match against Luton.

“He has made significant progress. His condition has improved noticeably over the past few days, including Wednesday, Thursday, and today,” Tindall stated.

“We will evaluate his situation after today’s assessment. There is a possibility that he could be included in tomorrow’s game.”

Newcastle is optimistic about the return of their leading goal scorer, Alexander Isak, who is recovering from a groin injury. They are hopeful that he will be available for Saturday’s Premier League match against Luton.

The Sweden striker departed the field before halftime during a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa earlier this week. However, assistant manager Jason Tindall expressed optimism on Friday, stating that Isak “has a chance” of participating in the upcoming match against Luton at St. James’ Park.

Tindall, who assumed press responsibilities in the absence of manager Eddie Howe, revealed that the 24-year-old forward has shown signs of improvement throughout the week and will undergo further evaluation later today.

Isak has been in impressive form this season, netting 10 goals in the league and a total of 14 across all competitions. Therefore, his potential availability would undoubtedly provide a significant boost for Newcastle, particularly if experienced striker Callum Wilson remains sidelined.

Wilson has been sidelined since late December due to a calf injury, but he has been making strides towards his comeback.

In addition, the northeast team, which is under Saudi control, did not make any signings at the senior level during the January transfer window. Furthermore, they are currently without the services of Joelinton, the Brazilian midfielder, who is in the process of recovering from thigh surgery.

It is worth noting that Newcastle’s 1-0 defeat to Luton on December 23rd marked the beginning of a four-game losing streak in league matches. However, they managed to put an end to this slump on Tuesday with a victory against Villa.

Tindall mentioned that Howe was expected to return for Saturday’s match.

Despite their ongoing shortage of strikers, Newcastle achieved an impressive victory during the week, putting an end to Villa’s long-standing unbeaten home record.

Tindall emphasized the significance of the win against Unai Emery’s team, stating that it was crucial for them to get back on track. He also mentioned their positive result in the FA Cup against Fulham.

The team’s performance in that match was exceptional, and it has boosted their confidence heading into the upcoming game this weekend.

Tindall attributed their improved performances to the increased amount of training time they have had with the players. This has been evident in their last two matches.

Having faced a challenging schedule recently, the team’s last two results have provided them with a great deal of confidence. They hope to build on this momentum, and the overall mood within the team has been fantastic.
