£242k-per-week forward is now eager to join Arsenal following discussions with Arteta – report

It was previously thought that Arsenal was negotiating deals for both Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, weighing which option would be more beneficial for the club (BBC).

However, it seems that Sesko has now emerged as their favored striker acquisition.

Fabrizio Romano reported late last week that the north London club has made progress in discussions for Sesko, with talks ongoing among all involved parties.

RB Leipzig is reportedly demanding at least £70 million for Sesko, and Arsenal is anticipated to submit their first official bid this week.

“I have a very good feeling about Sesko moving to Arsenal. Meetings have already occurred,” stated Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg over the weekend.

“RB Leipzig is expecting Arsenal’s initial offer for Benjamin Sesko next week. I am completely convinced that Sesko will be playing for Arsenal next season.”

In addition to their search for a new striker, Berta is also believed to be pursuing a new winger.

Bukayo Saka’s long-term absence in the middle of the 2024/2025 season significantly hindered Arsenal last year, while there is uncertainty regarding Leandro Trossard’s future as he approaches the final year of his contract.

Leroy Sane is interested in joining Arsenal after discussions with Mikel Arteta.

According to recent reports, the £242,000-per-week Bayern Munich star is a legitimate target for Mikel Arteta.

The German international was said to be nearing a new contract with Bayern, but despite reportedly reaching an agreement, Sane has engaged a new agent, super-agent Pini Zahavi, to negotiate for an even more favorable extension.

This has significantly delayed Sane’s agreement on new terms, giving Premier League clubs the opportunity to entice the former Man City star back to England.

Christian Falk reported last week that Arsenal has initiated discussions with Sane’s representatives regarding a transfer to the Emirates, where he would reunite with Arteta, and now CaughtOffside has provided an additional update on the matter.

They now indicate that Sane is eager to join Arsenal after conversing with Arteta, and it is also believed that the 29-year-old has a “written offer” awaiting his acceptance.

However, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Bayern have all made more lucrative salary proposals, so while Sane favors N5, Arteta’s team will need to enhance their offer.

“He (Sane) currently has four written offers,” stated the unnamed source from CaughtOffside.

“The most substantial is from Fenerbahce, followed by a contract extension from Bayern Munich, then Galatasaray, and lastly Arsenal.

“His preference is Arsenal, but he is seeking a higher wage.”

His primary consideration in making his choice is Champions League football, which is why he has not yet accepted Fenerbahce’s offer, as they are involved in Champions League qualifiers.
