Sunderland agree deal to sign Noah Sadiki from Union Saint Gilloise. Agreement done and medical done this morning, contract valid until June 2030. Transfer fee: €17m plus €3m add-ons.

Sunderland has reached an agreement with an Italian coach, finalizing the move for Noah Sadiki as well.

The club has confirmed the appointment of Luciano Vulcano as a first-team coach.

On a busy day on Wearside, Sunderland is set to enhance their coaching team with the addition of Italian Luciano Vulcano.

The Black Cats have been seeking to expand their coaching staff since Mike Dodds departed at the beginning of the year to take over at Wycombe Wanderers.

Kristjaan Speakman and Regis Le Bris chose not to introduce a new member to the coaching team during the latter part of last season, as they aimed to maintain stability at a crucial time in the campaign.

Nevertheless, there has been a strong intention to implement changes this summer, with Vulcano’s appointment expected to be confirmed shortly.

The 37-year-old holds a UEFA Pro Licence and has previously worked as an analyst for both Inter Milan and Fiorentina.

In October 2019, he was appointed as a technical coach at AC Milan, where he spent nearly five years in a senior coaching position at the San Siro.

Last September, he left to join Saudi Arabia, where he has spent the past nine months as the assistant manager at Al-Nassr.

During his time at Al-Nassr, he worked under Stefano Pioli, managing a squad that included stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Jhon Duran, and played a key role in helping the team secure third place in the Saudi Pro League, which qualified them for the AFC Champions League.

However, after Pioli departed Saudi Arabia at the end of last season to manage Fiorentina, Vulcano was given the chance to follow him to Serie A but opted not to continue their partnership.

Instead, he made himself available for other opportunities, prompting Sunderland to act swiftly in adding him to their coaching staff.

He is expected to be in place by the time the Black Cats commence their pre-season preparations later this month.

Sunderland announced the club-record acquisition of Habib Diarra yesterday and are nearing the completion of a free transfer for left-back Reinildo, who was recently released by Atletico Madrid.

The Black Cats have finalized an agreement for Union Saint Gilloise midfielder Noah Sadiki, which involves an initial payment of €17m, along with an additional €3m in agreed-upon add-ons.

They have engaged in discussions with Chelsea regarding goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, having shifted their focus to the Serbian, who was on loan at Strasbourg last season, after another target, Marcin Bulka, chose to sign with Saudi Arabian club NEOM.

Petrovic, valued at approximately £25m at Stamford Bridge, is anticipated to transfer this summer; however, Sunderland is facing competition from several clubs, including Premier League rivals Bournemouth, as they aim to bolster their goalkeeping options.
