Sky Sports reports that Arsenal is considering a £50 million move for the “exceptional” midfielder Hugo Larsson, in addition to pursuing Martin Zubimendi.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal is targeting a £50 million transfer for an “exceptional” midfielder, alongside their interest in Zubimendi.

According to Florian Plettenberg, a Sky Sports reporter, Arsenal is among the clubs interested in acquiring Eintracht Frankfurt’s midfielder, Hugo Larsson.

The Gunners may seek a new midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window, particularly due to uncertainties surrounding the futures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho.

There are indications that Jorginho has reached a pre-contract agreement with Brazilian club Flamengo, as his current contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the season’s end.

Reliable journalist Charles Watts has also suggested that Partey is likely to depart the club this summer.

He notes that while Arsenal is working to secure a deal for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, they may need to sign more than one midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal’s Interest in Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson.

The midfielder’s price tag is expected to be around €60 million.

Plettenberg’s report indicates that Arsenal is among the clubs keen on signing Larsson from Frankfurt.

The Bundesliga team is reportedly looking for around €60 million (£50 million) to allow the Swedish talent to leave, as they anticipate serious offers.

Larsson, who has been labeled ‘exceptional’ by Total Football Analysis, has primarily played as a central midfielder, leaning more towards a defensive role.

With Ethan Nwanei progressing through the ranks and Martin Odegaard occupying the attacking midfield position, it would be logical for Arsenal to seek a more defensively oriented player in their midfield.

Numerous top clubs are expected to compete for Larsson’s signature, making the pursuit potentially highly competitive.

It will be intriguing to see if Larsson can adapt quickly to the Premier League, especially considering he is only 20 years old.
