‘Shambolic’: Chris Sutton has predicts the scoreline for the Manchester City and Liverpool match this weekend…

Chris Sutton forecasts the outcome of the Manchester City versus Liverpool match this weekend.
Chris Sutton offers his scoreline prediction for the Manchester City versus Liverpool showdown this weekend, labeling the circumstances as tumultuous.
This weekend’s clash between Manchester City and Liverpool has prompted Chris Sutton to predict the scoreline, referring to the situation as disorderly.
This Sunday, Manchester City and Liverpool will face off in one of the most significant matches on the English football calendar.
In recent seasons, the encounters between Manchester City and Liverpool have been monumental, showcasing the two premier teams in the Premier League.
There have been memorable title battles between these clubs, including instances where Liverpool achieved over 90 points yet still fell short to Manchester City.
However, the dynamics have shifted, with Liverpool now holding a commanding 17-point lead over their rivals.
Chris Sutton has shared his predictions for the 4:30 PM kickoff at the Etihad Stadium.
Sutton anticipates a 3-1 victory for Liverpool against Manchester City.
The BBC Sport analyst began by highlighting Manchester City’s disappointing performance in their recent Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
Sutton characterized their display as “shambolic,” suggesting they had “waved the white flag” in surrender at the Bernabeu.
While acknowledging that Liverpool also faced challenges against Aston Villa midweek, he remains confident they will emerge victorious with a score of 3-1 against City.
“City essentially surrendered at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night and, missing Erling Haaland, they showed a lack of conviction from the start,” Sutton stated on BBC Sport.
“To be frank, it was a shambolic showing from Pep Guardiola’s team, marked by a significant lack of intensity.
“The match turned out to be quite disappointing. Real Madrid were always the favorites, but when City loses, one expects them to at least put up a fight.
“Instead, it was effectively over within the first five minutes. They didn’t believe they could win, which is a sentiment rarely associated with a Pep team.
“Liverpool faced their own difficulties against Villa midweek, but they must feel they can exploit weaknesses in this City side as well.”
Manchester City is concerned about Erling Haaland’s fitness ahead of their Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday.
Haaland was seen clutching his knee after an awkward landing during the 4-0 victory over Newcastle last weekend, which led to his substitution. He did not feature in Manchester City’s recent Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, where Kevin De Bruyne was also an unused substitute.
Additionally, John Stones exited the match at the Bernabeu due to a suspected muscle injury while attempting a pass, putting his availability for the Liverpool match in question.
Manuel Akanji, another central defender, sustained an injury during the first leg against Real Madrid and has since undergone surgery for an abductor issue.
Oscar Bobb and Rodri continue to be sidelined with long-term injuries.
On the Liverpool side, a Dutch winger has missed the last two matches due to a knock received in the Merseyside derby against Everton last week.
Conor Bradley also left the game against Aston Villa with a hamstring injury and is anticipated to be out for at least the next two matches as the medical team evaluates his condition. He joins Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton on the injury list.
