Roberto Firmino set terminate his contract with Al-Ahli, as the Liverpool legend set to be on the move, with Arsenal across possible deal…

Transfer Rumors: Roberto Firmino may be on the verge of terminating his contract with Al-Ahli after being excluded from the squad.
Should he become a free agent, a swift transfer to Arsenal could be on the horizon.
Reports indicate that an extraordinary deal for Roberto Firmino is nearing completion, following a recent suggestion from Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal is in a fierce competition with Liverpool for the title, and the addition of Firmino could provide a crucial boost in light of Kai Havertz’s injury.
Arsenal appears keen on securing Roberto Firmino, which could potentially be the standout transfer of the year and a significant development in the title race.
Liverpool has the opportunity to extend their lead over Arsenal to 10 points with a victory against Aston Villa this week, maintaining their status as strong contenders for a record-equalling 20th English title.
However, this month is pivotal for the Reds, with upcoming matches against Manchester City and Newcastle United following Wednesday’s challenge at Villa Park.
With Arsenal facing an injury crisis in their attacking lineup and the absence of Kai Havertz due to a hamstring injury, manager Mikel Arteta has suggested the possibility of signing a free agent to bolster their offensive options.
Roberto Firmino, a Liverpool legend, seems poised for a move, with Arsenal exploring a potential agreement.
Ranked 78th in FourFourTwo’s list of the greatest Premier League players, Firmino enjoyed eight successful years at Liverpool, achieving numerous accolades while playing in Jurgen Klopp’s false nine position.
He departed the club in 2023 on a free transfer to Al Ahli but remains a beloved figure among Liverpool fans.
However, his experience in the Saudi Pro League has not been as fruitful, as new signing Galeno has relegated Firmino to a secondary role.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 33-year-old captain has been left out of Al-Ahli’s league squad, making him eligible only for the Asian Champions League.
Firmino is currently evaluating his options and considering a potential return to Europe.
According to reports from Spain cited by Football365, there is speculation about a surprising return to the Premier League for the forward, with Arsenal reportedly at the forefront of this interest.
Given that the North London club is without a natural striker for the remainder of the season, a temporary acquisition of Firmino could be feasible before they pursue a more permanent solution in the summer.
This move could also intensify the title race, especially with Arsenal set to visit Anfield on May 10 for what may be a crucial encounter between the league’s top two teams.
Mikel Arteta has recently stated that the club will “explore every possible situation” to secure an unattached striker, leading some fans to speculate that he is keeping an eye on the free agent market.
This is a viable option due to Firmino’s status as a soon-to-be free agent, allowing for transfers outside the traditional windows.
Notable free agents include former players Carlos Vela and Lucas Perez, as well as ex-Ligue 1 star Wissam Ben Yedder.
While Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte reports that Flamengo is competing with European clubs for Firmino’s signature, they also mention that the player’s representatives have denied any ongoing discussions with Arsenal.
This response is expected, considering the potential backlash such a move could provoke, although there is a history between the Gunners and the striker.
Historically, Arsenal and Liverpool have only completed one transfer, which involved Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moving to the Reds during the Arsene Wenger era.
This transfer occurred only after Arsenal had initially agreed to sell him to Chelsea for £40 million.
According to FourFourTwo, Firmino would prefer to return to Merseyside once his contract in Saudi Arabia is terminated, making a transfer to a rival club highly unlikely.
