Arsenal’s bid to bring in Arteta’s priority signing has been immediately turned down, as per David Ornstein.

David Ornstein reports that Arsenal’s attempt to secure Arteta’s desired player was promptly rebuffed.

David Ornstein reports that Arsenal’s attempt to secure a deal for a key target of Arteta’s has been turned down immediately.

Arsenal is actively pursuing Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Dan Bentley, with reports from The Athletic’s David Ornstein indicating that the Gunners have had an initial bid turned down for the 30-year-old.

Mikel Arteta is keen on bolstering the goalkeeping department at the Emirates Stadium, but it seems they will need to increase their offer in order to sway Wolves into selling.

Bentley would probably slot in as the third-choice keeper behind David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale, making it questionable for Arsenal to spend big on him.

The summer transfer window has been relatively quiet for the club from north London, as they have yet to make any official signings.

According to The Athletic and Ornstein, Arsenal’s initial offer for Bentley has been rejected by Wolves.

The Midlands club is only willing to part ways with him if they receive a sufficient amount to invest in a new backup goalkeeper. Bentley, who is 30 years old, has had limited playing time with Wolves.

Arsenal’s bid is reportedly significantly lower than what Wolves are looking for, so it seems unlikely that Bentley will be transferring to the Emirates Stadium.

Despite this, the Gunners are interested in adding the experienced Englishman to their squad as a third-choice goalkeeper, as he also qualifies as a homegrown player.

Bentley spent several years at Arsenal during his youth, starting at the age of eight and leaving at 15.

He has since become a prominent goalkeeper in English football before moving to Wolves last year.

For Wolves, selling Bentley in the upcoming transfer window wouldn’t be wise. The potential transfer fee wouldn’t be substantial enough to strengthen multiple areas of their team, and they would still need to find a replacement.

Arsenal is reportedly interested in acquiring Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze, as per journalist Ed Aarons.

While the Gunners are in the mix, there are other clubs vying for his signature. Eze has a £60m release clause, making it potentially straightforward to lure him away from Selhurst Park.

The versatile forward has the ability to operate in various roles along the attacking line, making them a valuable asset for Arteta’s team.

Mark Goldbridge, a presenter, believes that securing Eze’s signature would be a significant coup for Arsenal.
