Report: Arsenal considering move for “outstanding” striker with similarities to Mbappe…
Arsenal in discussions for the signing of an “extraordinary” forward who is “on par with Mbappe”
According to reports, Arsenal have engaged in talks with Victor Osimhen’s representative regarding a possible transfer during the upcoming summer window.
It appears that the Nigerian footballer is unlikely to remain with Napoli for another season.
In their pursuit of a striker, Arsenal is contemplating Joshua Zirkzee and Viktor Gyokeres as potential alternatives.
Arsenal have reportedly held discussions with Victor Osimhen’s agent from Napoli regarding a potential summer transfer, with the intention of strengthening their attacking options for the upcoming season.
It has been suggested that Osimhen is likely to depart Napoli this summer, with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis hinting at a move to Real Madrid, PSG, or a Premier League club.
The Nigerian forward is said to be holding off on making a decision until July, with a preference for a move to a Premier League side.
Both Chelsea and Arsenal are said to be keen on securing Osimhen’s services to address their striker concerns for the upcoming Premier League season.
This summer, they are expected to face competition from PSG and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.
Both teams have shown interest in signing the former Serie A champion, who is highly regarded by Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha and considered to be on par with Kylian Mbappe.
Meanwhile, Napoli has set their sights on Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea. He is their top priority to replace Osimhen, according to a report from Il Roma.
In other news, Arsenal has reached out to Osimhen regarding a potential transfer.
However, they faced disappointment after Benjamin Sesko, who they were initially interested in, decided to extend his contract with RB Leipzig.
As a result, Arsenal is now exploring other options to find their new striker.
As per reports from the Italian media, the Gunners have already engaged in discussions with Osimhen’s agent as they carefully consider their options during this transfer window.
Mikel Arteta’s team is eager to strengthen their attacking lineup with a new addition this summer, following a disappointing season from both Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus.
The duo managed to score a mere nine goals collectively in the Premier League, prompting Nketiah to seek a move away from the club. Several English teams have expressed interest in the Arsenal academy graduate.
On the other hand, Jesus is expected to continue featuring for Arsenal in the upcoming season.
Last month, Arteta confirmed that the Gunners have no plans of selling the former Manchester City striker, who joined the club two seasons ago.
Following their Serie A triumph last season, Osimhen faced a challenging year at Napoli as the team ended up in 10th place in the league.
The Nigerian striker only managed to score 15 goals in 25 matches, which is 11 goals less than his previous season’s tally.
Arsenal Eyeing Joshua Zirkzee
Viktor Gyokeres also under consideration
After failing to secure Sesko, Arsenal is contemplating Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and Brighton’s Evan Ferguson as potential options in their search for a striker this summer, as per journalist Ben Jacobs’ report on GIVEMESPORT.
Jacobs mentioned that Milan are currently leading the race to sign Zirkzee this summer, following his impressive performances for Thiago Motta’s team last season, which helped them clinch a spot in the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
Gyokeres, who secured the Portuguese league championship with Sporting, had an outstanding season playing under Ruben Amorim, netting 43 goals and providing 15 assists in 50 matches across all competitions.
