A journalist reports that Edu is keen on having Mikel Arteta and Arsenal sign a £50m player from the Premier League.

Edu is exerting significant pressure on Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to pursue the signing of a Premier League player valued at £50m, showcasing a genuine admiration for him.

Edu Gaspar, the sporting director of Arsenal, has expressed a strong admiration for a prominent player in the Premier League.

As the summer transfer window approaches, the Gunners are anticipated to enhance Mikel Arteta’s defensive options, with a particular focus on securing a new left-back.

While Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney have been informed of their potential departure, Jakub Kiwior is expected to remain with the club.

In the event that Zinchenko and Tierney do leave, Arsenal will require additional depth in both the left-back position and central defense, despite the return of Jurrien Timber for the final match of the previous season.

In the final game of last season, Jurrien Timber made a comeback, but if Zinchenko and Tierney leave, Arsenal will require additional support at left-back and in central defense.

One player who has caught the attention of the Gunners is Murillo, the centre-back from Nottingham Forest. In March, it was reported that Murillo is being closely monitored by Arsenal after an impressive first season at the City Ground.

Journalist Chris Wheatley now reveals that Edu Gaspar is particularly eager to secure the services of the Brazilian.

Wheatley discussed some of the defenders currently being considered by Arsenal during an interview on Shots TV.

According to Wheatley, there has been recent mention of Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo. He is highly sought after, with Manchester United being the main club linked to him.

Interestingly, Todibo seems to be above other players on Arsenal’s shortlist.

On the other hand, Murillo, the Nottingham Forest defender, has also garnered a lot of interest due to his impressive first season at Forest.

Signed from Corinthians, he has caught the attention of several Premier League teams, including Tottenham.

It appears that it is Edu at Arsenal who has a strong liking for Murillo, rather than Arteta. However, Todibo is the player that was specifically mentioned.

The situation surrounding Todibo will be intriguing to follow this summer, with Manchester United currently being seen as the frontrunners for his signature.

The potential addition of Murillo to Arsenal would be a valuable asset to Arteta’s youthful team.

With his impressive ball skills, he could even contribute as a full-back. Arteta has already worked wonders with Ben White, transforming him into one of the Premier League’s finest right-backs, and Murillo possesses even greater qualities in this aspect.

Furthermore, as a left-footed defender, he would provide excellent cover for Gabriel Magalhaes.

Despite Forest acquiring Murillo for a mere £15 million last year, recent reports suggest that they could demand over £50 million to part ways with him after just one season.
