Liverpool Not Targeting Isak or Ekitike: Contact Made to Acquire £80m Forward Following Wirtz.

Liverpool has expressed interest in acquiring Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon this summer, as reported by insider DaveOckop.

The Premier League champions were strongly linked to the England international last summer and are thought to have continued their admiration for Gordon since then.

They have allegedly kept in contact with Gordon’s representatives after their pursuit of the forward nearly a year ago, although his exit from Newcastle appears improbable in the near future.

The winger, valued at £80m, signed a new five-year deal with the Magpies last October, putting Newcastle in a robust negotiating position should the Merseysiders express interest again.

As per DaveOckop, Liverpool is ready to make a substantial offer for Gordon if one of their current forwards leaves this summer, with players like Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez potentially on the move.

Colombian star Luis Diaz also seems to have an uncertain future at Anfield, with two years remaining on his contract amid ongoing interest from Saudi Arabia.

Gordon has attracted considerable attention from Premier League clubs following a standout season, with Arsenal also identifying him as a viable option in their quest for a new winger.

The ‘incredible’ forward, who transferred to Newcastle from Everton for £45m in January 2023, netted nine goals and provided seven assists in 42 matches across all competitions last season.

Liverpool is close to finalizing the acquisitions of Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, and they are also anticipated to enhance their attack with a new forward this summer.

The Reds are reportedly considering Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike as a possible target, while a transfer for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak seems unlikely.
