Newcastle United is making a late effort to acquire an eight-goal forward, who is eager to join the team.

As the summer transfer window approaches its final days, Newcastle United has two forwards in their sights.

The Magpies remain hopeful of further enhancing their first-team roster before the transfer deadline on Tuesday at 11pm.

On Wednesday night, Newcastle secured their seventh and most significant summer signing thus far, finalizing a £50 million deal for midfielder Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City.

The club has brought in two goalkeepers, Lukas Hornicek and Ewen Jaouen, three midfielders—Gonzalez, Sean Steur, and Aladji Bamba—a right-back, Amar Dedic, and a left winger, Bazoumana Toure. However, new manager Matthias Jaissle has been ‘very clear’ about the additional areas that require reinforcement.

“It’s the first message in the morning to push, definitely,” Jaissle stated. “But the management, led by sporting director Ross, is doing an excellent job, exploring all options.

“We aim to be strategic and avoid hasty decisions. Therefore, I am quite optimistic that progress will be made.”

Newcastle United is intensifying efforts to sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo.

A versatile forward is a priority, and according to The Telegraph, Newcastle is making a late attempt to secure Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo, although sources indicate that finalizing a deal may be challenging.

Earlier in the summer, the Belgian international was on Newcastle’s radar, but the club believed he was out of reach after failing to qualify for European competition. However, there is now optimism that Fernandez-Pardo is open to joining, provided a fee can be negotiated.

The 21-year-old, who can play on either wing or in a central role, has expressed his desire to leave Lille and will not participate in matches for the club while the summer transfer window remains open. Currently, the French club is holding firm on their £60 million asking price.

Last season, Fernandez-Pardo netted eight goals and provided five assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances, earning him a spot in Belgium’s World Cup squad.

Newcastle United is aware of Bilal El Khannouss.

As a possible alternative, Newcastle has considered pursuing Stuttgart winger Bilal El Khannouss. According to The Telegraph, a deal could advance quickly if the Fernandez-Pardo transfer encounters delays.

The 22-year-old caught United’s attention last summer when he moved from Leicester City to Stuttgart.
