Liverpool received a significant boost just hours before their clash with Man Utd – ‘we have just been informed’

Man Utd seem to have been dealt a last-minute injury setback before the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.

It seems that Manchester United have been dealt a last-minute injury setback just before their FA Cup quarter-final match against Liverpool.

Manchester United have been hit with a late injury blow as they prepare to face Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final this afternoon (15.30 GMT). The Reds are set to visit Old Trafford in hopes of advancing in their pursuit of a quadruple this season.

While Jurgen Klopp’s team is having a successful campaign, United are facing challenges as they currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League. The FA Cup represents their final opportunity to secure some silverware this season.

It appears that Casemiro will not be available to play for the Red Devils. The five-time Champions League winner has been removed from Brazil’s squad for the upcoming international break and Porto forward Pepe will take his place.

This indicates that Casemiro will be missing from the match against Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

Dorival Junior, the Brazil coach, stated: “We have just been informed by Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar. Out of the 50 players initially selected by the Brazilian National Team’s technical committee, 13 have already been ruled out due to injuries at their respective clubs.

“Regrettably, we have also had to replace Casemiro. As a result, PepĂȘ, a forward from Porto who now plays as a midfielder, has been called up.”

Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are set to make their return to the United squad as they prepare to face Liverpool. Additionally, Mason Mount has resumed training earlier this week.

On the other hand, Liverpool can expect Ryan Gravenberch to be on the bench after missing the last five games due to ankle ligament damage. However, Ibrahima Konate is unlikely to participate in his third consecutive game.
