Liverpool ‘plan to sell Luis Diaz to raise funds for the signing of a world-class striker replacement’…

Liverpool plans to offload Diaz to acquire a striker
Liverpool is set to transfer Luis Diaz to generate funds for a new striker.
This summer, Liverpool intends to sell Colombian forward Luis Diaz, 28, to finance the acquisition of a striker.
According to former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who has extensive connections in the football industry, Liverpool is looking to revamp their attacking lineup this summer amid increasing interest in their players.
Arne Slot aims to bring in another “world-class” forward, regardless of whether Mohamed Salah stays or departs, but will need to make room by allowing a player to leave.
Diaz, 28, has been viewed as a valuable asset for Liverpool since last summer, when it was reported that they would entertain offers starting at £50 million for his transfer.
This season, he has made 35 appearances in all competitions, starting 26 matches, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists.
Nevertheless, Liverpool is eager to secure a dedicated striker this summer and may leverage Diaz’s exit to facilitate that move.
Liverpool targets Alexander Isak following Diaz’s potential departure.
Football Insider reported on February 16 that Liverpool’s interest in Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is “genuine” and “very strong.”
Brown, who has significant experience in elite player recruitment from his time at Manchester United during their peak years, emphasized that selling Diaz could enable Liverpool to pursue more ambitious transfer targets.
“Liverpool finds itself in a situation reminiscent of what Manchester United experienced,” he stated.
“They possess a strong squad and are competing for trophies, yet the ongoing challenge is identifying ways to enhance and strengthen the team.”
The task at hand is challenging due to the diminishing pool of players available for selection.
“Currently, is there clarity on what their optimal lineup is? I would contend that there isn’t.
“Salah consistently occupies the right flank, which is certain, but then there’s a rotation among Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz, who alternate between the striker position and the left wing.
“This is a crucial area, particularly in the central role, where they will seek enhancements.
“They will aim to secure a top-tier striker to lead the attack, complemented by quality players around him.
“In this scenario, I believe Diaz could be a candidate for transfer, as bringing in another forward could limit his playing time.
“I have heard that several clubs have shown interest in him, so if suitable offers materialize, Liverpool may be willing to part ways with him.
“This would allow them to allocate funds towards acquiring the new player that Slot desires.”
Arne Slot has made a decision regarding Diogo Jota’s future at Anfield.
In addition to the rumors surrounding Diaz, Diogo Jota has also been linked with a potential exit from Anfield during the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old is a prime target for several clubs in the Saudi Pro League, and Arsenal has also expressed interest in the Liverpool forward.
Football Insider reported on February 19 that Jota is no longer considered part of Slot’s long-term strategy and will be permitted to leave if a reasonable offer is presented.
Any attacking departures are anticipated to be addressed in the transfer market, as Liverpool is eager to bolster their squad following a strong season thus far.
