Vincent Joseph has joined Arsenal from Liverpool
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Vincent Joseph after the teenager turned down the chance to sign scholarship terms with Liverpool.

The 16-year-old, who impressed for Liverpool Under-18s last season, also attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. But he has instead agreed first-year scholarship terms with the Gunners and joined their academy set-up.

Joseph scored two goals in three appearances for Liverpool Under-18s last season, having scored on his debut at that level after just 10 minutes.

A final transfer fee for Joseph is set to be settled via tribunal after the two sides were unable to agree a fee for the 16-year-old.

Arsenal confirmed the England Under-16s international’s arrival on Thursday, saying in an official statement: “We’re delighted to confirm the signing of talented young England U-16s striker Vincent Joseph. The forward joins us as part of our first year scholarship intake for the 2026/27 season.

“After getting off to a brilliant start at under-18s level for Liverpool last season, Vincent is keen for more opportunities to develop his game.

“Our new striker will be hoping to help us chase trophies at Academy level this season, and his outstanding goalscoring record could prove important in such a push.

“As well as scoring three goals in his first two under-18s games last season, the England youth international has scored eight times in his nine games for the England under-16s side, also providing an assist.

“Vincent will link up with some familiar faces as he begins his time in north London, having worked with Emerson Nwaneri and Charlie Phillips at international level.

“The partnership between himself and Emerson has proved valuable for the Three Lions, something the forwards will look to replicate in north London.

“Everyone at Arsenal would like to welcome Vincent to the club and looks forward to seeing him in action for us this season and beyond.”

Joseph had already confirmed his Liverpool exit on social media on Wednesday, writing on Instagram: “After 9 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye. Thank you for the memories, and for making my time here truly special. @liverpoolfc YNWA.”
