Liverpool have taken significant measures to secure their first signing of the summer, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool has taken the necessary steps to secure their first summer signing.

The club has expressed their interest in acquiring the services of Leny Yoro, a talented defender from Lille.

Romano suggests that Liverpool acknowledges the competition from Real Madrid, who highly regard the 18-year-old as a remarkable talent.

Nevertheless, Romano confidently affirms that if Yoro’s move to the La Liga champions falls through, Liverpool will be ready to seize the opportunity.

It is worth noting that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also actively pursuing Yoro, who has just one year remaining on his contract with the French club.

If Madrid decides to pursue the young player, Yoro is likely to favor them over other interested parties.

Romano stated: “Liverpool has expressed interest and taken initial steps to secure the center-back, but the Premier League team believes that Real Madrid will ultimately secure the player.

“I can confirm that Liverpool will be in the running if the player does not choose to join the La Liga champions.”

Leny Yoro would be an excellent addition to Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has built a strong team for Arne Slot to build upon, so major changes are not necessary.

Liverpool’s defensive lineup includes Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Joe Gomez as the main centre-backs.

Jarrell Quansah showed significant improvement as a centre-back under Klopp last season and is expected to have a prominent role in the upcoming season.

Despite this, the Reds are in need of another quality defender after Joel Matip’s departure. The club decided not to renew his contract, creating an opportunity for Liverpool to introduce a promising young talent.

Yoro, who made 32 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and scored two goals, is being closely monitored by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes for potential recruitment.

Liverpool fans can anticipate more options being explored in the near future.

As of now, Liverpool has not secured any new signings, but they are determined to pursue Yoro until the transfer window closes.
