A fresh twist involving Matthias Jaissle arises as the announcement of Newcastle United’s head coach remains pending.

The official explanation for the delay in announcing Matthias Jaissle as Newcastle United’s head coach, despite leaked images, has been revealed.

Matthias Jaissle is poised to be officially named as the successor to Eddie Howe at Newcastle United.

Since Saturday, Matthias Jaissle has been integrated with the Newcastle United squad after being selected by the club to take over from Eddie Howe as head coach.

The German coach has been seen at the La Manga training camp; however, as of Tuesday morning, he has not yet been formally introduced as Newcastle’s new head coach.

According to The Gazette, the delay is attributed to Al-Ahli not finalizing the necessary paperwork for the announcement of his appointment. Newcastle has reached an agreement with Al-Ahli for a £9.5 million compensation package to release Jaissle from his obligations at the Saudi Pro League club.

Ideally, the Magpies would have preferred to announce their new head coach by now, but the situation is largely beyond their control. This is despite both Newcastle and Al-Ahli being primarily owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund.

Both clubs function independently, which means Newcastle is simply waiting to receive the essential paperwork to make a formal announcement.

Currently, Newcastle is training at La Manga in Spain, where Jaissle is expected to meet with media representatives later this week in preparation for the friendly match against Valencia on Saturday.

At 38 years old, Jaissle joins Newcastle following a successful tenure in Saudi Arabia, where he secured consecutive Asian Champions League titles with Al-Ahli. Before that, he achieved back-to-back Austrian Bundesliga titles with Red Bull Salzburg.

His arrival signifies his first experience managing in a top European league as he joins a Newcastle squad that is undergoing a significant transition, having lost Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, Howe, and potentially captain Bruno Guimaraes as well.
