‎
‎Andoni Iraola has made a bold call at left-back for Liverpool’s clash with Fulham, leaving Milos Kerkez on the bench and starting Kostas Tsimikas instead.
‎
‎The decision has been praised by Liverpool fans, who like the message it sends: nobody is guaranteed a place in Iraola’s XI, regardless of their reputation or price tag.
‎
‎@merayis2flyy: “Kerkez will be surprised he got dropped, very good wake-up call for him to up his game”
‎
‎@amzinooo10: “Kerkez is absolutely rubbish and rash midweek and ever since he started playing for us. Dropped for Tsimikas and needed. Doesn’t mean he’s any better tbh.”
‎
‎@JohnSmith5912: “Love how ruthless Iraola is when players play shite like Kerkez has been”
‎
‎@JordyLFC_: “Credit to Iraola, Kerkez stinker and he’s dropped. Slot would never.”
‎
‎@Bravejonathano2: “What I have loved about our manager you. Mess up with one match and get benched for the next match. Kerkez on the bench wow”
‎
‎Kerkez has started Liverpool’s previous four games this season, but he is still searching for his best form since arriving from Bournemouth. The Hungarian has yet to register a goal or assist in the Premier League this season, and his performances have been inconsistent.
‎
‎He was also criticised for his role in Atlético Madrid’s opening goal in midweek, although Iraola later explained that Kerkez was substituted because he was tired and suffering from cramp.
