Double Liverpool exit confirmed with a medical scheduled for TODAY and transfer to the champions approved.

Two additional Liverpool departures are progressing, with one player undergoing a medical TODAY and another receiving the go-ahead to join Serie A champions Napoli.

Recent headlines surrounding Anfield have focused on significant new signings. However, beneath the surface, Liverpool is making substantial changes to the squad that clinched the Premier League title.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has moved to Real Madrid, and in reality, Liverpool was reluctant to part ways with their homegrown star.

In other news, Caoimhin Kelleher has been transferred to Brentford, and Jarell Quansah is on the verge of joining Bayer Leverkusen for £35m. Liverpool has successfully included a buy-back clause in Quansah’s contract.

Two more players from the Reds are poised to leave, starting with the overlooked centre-back, Nat Phillips.

The 28-year-old will always be cherished for his contribution to Liverpool’s Champions League qualification during the 2020/21 season.

At that time, Liverpool faced a barrage of defensive injuries, and alongside Ozan Kabak and Rhys Williams, Phillips played a crucial role in stabilizing the team, leading to a third-place finish on the final day.

However, since that critical period, Phillips has seen limited playing time, spending most of the following years on loan.

With just one year left on his contract at Anfield, reports from both The Telegraph and Athletic indicate that he is set to finalize a permanent move to Championship club, West Brom.

Phillips is currently undergoing a medical today (Monday), and unless any unexpected issues arise, he will be joining the Baggies.

Liverpool will receive only a minimal transfer fee for Phillips, in contrast to Darwin Nunez, who has approved a transfer to Napoli…

Latest on Darwin Nunez to Napoli.

Liverpool is prepared to end their three-year experiment with Nunez. The Uruguayan has not progressed since his arrival from Benfica in a then-club record deal valued at £85m (including add-ons).

Nunez continues to be as frustrating and inconsistent as ever, yet Napoli manager Antonio Conte is confident he can refine the rough diamond.

Recently on X, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that Conte has successfully persuaded Nunez to join Napoli.

With the striker’s consent secured, the focus will now shift to submitting a bid to Liverpool and finalizing personal terms with the player.

“I understand Darwin Nunez has given his initial approval to Napoli, showing openness to the transfer after being introduced to Conte’s project,” Romano wrote.

“The deal now hinges on financial viability, as Liverpool is seeking a significant transfer fee, and the salary will also be a crucial discussion point.”

Liverpool turned down a £70m offer for Nunez from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr in January.

This price will act as a reference point in negotiations with Napoli, although it appears unrealistic that the Serie A champions will agree to pay an amount close to that high figure.

Andy Robertson (Atletico Madrid) and Harvey Elliott (Brighton) are among other Liverpool players currently linked with potential exits.
