Doue – 8, Camavinga – 7: Rating France players in narrow win against Belgium
Les Blues lacked cutting edge in Belgium but got the win at last.

France beat Belgium 1-0 to climb to the top of their Nations League group in what was a truly enthralling encounter, capped with the brilliance of Michael Olise.

Here’s how we rate the French players:

Olise – 9
What a player Bayern have in Michael Olise. The winger came off the bench and destroyed Belgium, scoring the only goal in the game with a sublime individual finish. His dribbling was incredible, and that strike was something only Olise can do.

Doue – 8

This was a top top performance from PSG star Desire Doue. All it lacked was a goal to finish it off. Doue hit the bar, had 2 shots on target and attempted 5 shots. He also made 11 progressive carries.

Camavinga – 7.5

This was a top-of-the-shelf performance from Eduardo Camavinga. It’s been a while since we saw the Real Madrid midfielder balling like this. He made 5 recoveries, 3 tackles and 6 progressive carries.

Jacquet – 7.5
What a defender Liverpool have in Jeremy Jacquet. He was instrumental in France keeping a clean sheet against Belgium and was brilliant in his 1-v-1 duels.

Lacroix – 7
Chelsea defender Maxence Lacroix was also brilliant with his defending against Belgium. There were a few lapses in concentration but he was generally very solid.

Lepaul – 6
Esteban Lepaul was good against Belgium. The striker was tidy with running the channels and connecting with his teammates, but he missed a few clear-cut chances. He could’ve opened his international account tonight.

Rating other players: Barcola – 5, Da Cunha – 7.5, Akliouche – 6.5, Kalulu – 7, Maignan – 8, Diouf – 7, Dembele – 5.5, Cherki – 5.5
