Jeremie Frimpong’s jersey number has been disclosed as he prepares to finalize his medical examination with Liverpool.

The club is set to complete a £30 million transfer for the new right-back, following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool has acted swiftly to find a replacement for Alexander-Arnold, who confirmed earlier this month that he would be leaving the club this summer after his contract expires, with a potential move to Real Madrid to join his friend Jude Bellingham.

Speculation arose regarding who would fill the right-back position next season, with Arne Slot hinting that Conor Bradley might step in.

However, Liverpool has reportedly been negotiating with Bayer Leverkusen’s Frimpong to secure a replacement for the outgoing Alexander-Arnold.

Recent reports indicate that the Reds have reached an agreement with Die Werkself for the transfer of the 24-year-old Dutch international for €35 million (£29.4m/$39m).

Furthermore, Ben Jacobs has reported that Frimpong completed the first part of his medical with Liverpool on Sunday and is expected to finish it on Monday.

Jacobs also mentioned that Frimpong is likely to don the number 30 shirt for Liverpool, a number he has previously worn at Bayer Leverkusen and Celtic.

The club is anticipated to announce Frimpong’s transfer before their final Premier League match of the season and aims to introduce him to fans during the game against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday, May 25.
