Arsenal’s lineup against Newcastle: Expected team news, injury updates, and predicted formation for the Premier League match.

Kai Havertz may return for the crucial game at the Emirates Stadium, alongside Declan Rice.

Initially, it was thought that Havertz would be sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained in Dubai in February, but he has recovered more quickly than anticipated.

Mikel Arteta will assess Havertz’s fitness on Saturday before determining his availability for the match.

‘He has participated in certain parts of the training sessions over the last two days,’ Arteta commented on Friday.

‘He appears to be in excellent condition, but the final decision will depend on the medical team’s clearance and how Kai feels about contributing if needed.

We recognize Kai’s significance to our team, and his impressive physical condition indicates he has made substantial improvements in key metrics for a striker, showcasing a remarkable transformation.’

Arsenal will be without Mikel Merino, who is suspended after receiving a red card against Liverpool last weekend.

Additionally, Gabriel Magalhaes (hamstring), Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), and Gabriel Jesus (knee) are also expected to be unavailable.

There are uncertainties surrounding Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, Jorginho, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard, although Jorginho, Martinelli, Rice, and Trossard participated in an initial training session at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Currently, Arsenal sits second in the Premier League standings, just two points ahead of Newcastle. Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli.
