Arsenal strike ‘full agreement’ with second most expensive signing of quadruple transfer blitz…

Arsenal has reached a ‘full agreement’ regarding their second most expensive signing as part of a quadruple transfer initiative.
The club has made significant progress towards securing a new player, following Fabrizio Romano’s confirmation that another crucial element has been finalized in their four-player transfer campaign.
Together with Fulham and Nottingham Forest, Arsenal stands as one of only three Premier League teams yet to announce a signing for the summer 2025 transfer window.
However, this situation is set to change dramatically, with up to four new arrivals on the horizon.
Arsenal is looking to finalize the acquisitions of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, and Christian Norgaard from Brentford in the near future.
Romano’s latest report highlights the fourth target they are eager to secure as part of their initial summer signings: Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.
Recently, Arsenal initiated discussions with Valencia regarding Mosquera, but their initial offer of €14m (£12m) was turned down.
Now, Arsenal is escalating their efforts. Romano has disclosed that they are prepared to present a second bid, which may exceed €20m (£17m).
A significant development that could tip the scales in Arsenal’s favor is that they have achieved a ‘full agreement’ with Mosquera concerning personal terms.
Given that the 21-year-old is clearly keen on joining Arsenal, the club will be optimistic that their latest offer will compel Valencia to agree to a sale.
If Mosquera’s transfer costs at least £17m, he would be positioned between Zubimendi (£55m) and Norgaard (£10m plus up to £5m in add-ons) in terms of expenditure.
Kepa, on the other hand, will be the least expensive of the group at just £5m.
Arsenal transfer news: Gyokeres meeting, Saka push.
As Arsenal begins to intensify their activity in the transfer market, they still have additional areas within their squad that will require reinforcement once these four transactions are finalized.
For instance, acquiring a new striker remains a top priority, with Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting CP) and Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig) both being strongly linked.
Regarding Gyokeres, there has been a recent update from Portugal indicating that the player is requesting urgent discussions as he seeks a transfer to the Emirates Stadium.
In other developments, Bukayo Saka is reportedly playing a crucial role in another transfer endeavor for Arsenal.
It has been suggested that Saka has discreetly advised an attacking midfielder, who is on Arsenal’s radar, to prefer them over their north London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
Additionally, Arsenal remains connected with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. Recent reports have outlined a three-step strategy for their potential offer.
Who is Cristhian Mosquera?
Born in Alicante, located in the Valencian region of Spain, Mosquera is a right-footed center-back.
He dedicated five years to Valencia’s academy and spent two years playing for their B team, before delivering an outstanding performance on his first-team debut at just 17 years and six months during the Copa del Rey in January 2022. This impressive display earned him the opportunity to debut in LaLiga shortly thereafter.
Since 2023, Mosquera has been a consistent member of Valencia’s first-team squad, accumulating over 100 appearances. He also represented Spain’s under-23 team at the Paris Olympics.
Thanks to his youth experience in futsal, Mosquera is adept with the ball, while also being notably strong and effective in aerial duels.
Typically, he has played as the central defender in a back three for Valencia, although he has occasionally taken on the role of right-back.
During the 2024-25 LaLiga season, Mosquera ranked in the 96th percentile among center-backs for ball recoveries per 90 minutes (5.15) and achieved a pass completion rate of 90.5%.
He started 37 out of Valencia’s 38 league matches and completed 36 of them, proving to be a vital player in their revival under Carlos Corberan.
However, Mosquera now appears poised to advance to the next phase of his career, ready to showcase his versatile skills on a larger platform.
